He would be the perfect signing for us right now, someone with that creative genius that could unlock defences and help us turn good performances into resounding wins.

Famed for his long shots for some reason, he hasn't scored more than 4 goals in a league campaign in he last 5 years. On paper a great player but he hasn't played for months, could take a while before he makes a serious impact.

Somehow i can't see that sky reporter who looks like a character from wallace and grommet being outside Tottenhams training ground on the 31st , I just think its gonna be another disappointing window. The only thing they might catch is Levy counting his Sheckles.

Think he would give the place such a lift

It's Wesley friggin sneijder man

4 year contract. 8m fee. Pay him 3m each season he completes and give 90k a week.

But then again that still works out to a total outlay of 30mil

This is kinda like the Kaka thing a year or so back. I'd take him, pure and simple. The guy oozes class and once fit he'd be special.

The problem however, is that he's already on more money than we pay out. Tax is less in Italy so we'd be breaking our wage barrier just to match what he's currently on. I don't think Levy is willing to break our wage barrier as that's going to lead a couple of other players to pipe up. I'm willing to bet Bale and probably Adebayor have a "match highest earner" clause.

IMO, he's one of the best players of his generation, in the world. Played CM for european champions Inter and world cup finalists Holland in 2010. And he made both of those teams tick. He should've been world footballer of the year that year.

Maybe his missus isn't fit enough.

I respectfully disagree...

Anyone else here think that he is not only the type of player we are missing but the very best of that type?

I seriously hope Levy is trying on this one. I know his wages are excessive, but he's available on a cut-down price this window and in the summer if we manage to offload the deadwood in Bentley, Jenas and maybe Livermore/Hudd, we'll make available a lot of wages. He's exactly what we need right now.

I think we can afford to cut down roster size to bring in some talent. Barring massive injuries we don't need

Sandro Parker Livermore Hudd Dembele Carroll Siggy Dempsey

Sandro Parker Sneijder Dembele Carroll Dempsey

will still give us enough in the middle with Holtby on the way. No I'm not suggesting Hudd and Livermore will pay for Sneijder itself but we can afford to drop a few others. As some of the younger ones are coming to age and establishing themselves.

Though breaking the pay scale does open a few holes to certain players contracts we have it might be worth it.

Galatasaray may still pay the same amount if things don't work out in a year and a half.
