Everyone seems to think Arsenal are nailed on for 3rd place, despite shocking performances they have got incredibly lucky, and surely their luck must run out soon?

Firstly...We beat Wigan on saturday and we go above arsenal by 1 point with the same games played. Arsenal then play United who will hopefully be motivated by Fergie to crush that wanker and his scum side in their own back garden. Thus meaning we are still a point above with a game in hand.

Our game in hand is then Chelsea. Even if we lose we will be above them on the same games played, with a run-in as easy as theirs. Match their results and we finish above them. If we beat wigan and get a result at Chelsea then its all good if you ask me. Believe!! (y)

This is the problem with your optimism imo. Having experience of these things across several seasons, the following ring true:

1. When Spurs rely on other teams to screw up, they don't. See Chelsea's champions league win as an example.
2. When other teams rely on Spurs to screw up, invariably, we do. See giving up a 10 point lead last season as an example.
3. When other teams play badly and look like they are going to screw up, they get lucky (or cheat?). See Fulop and lasagna gate as examples. (Or Chelsea's champions league win again...)
4. Spurs don't get lucky. Ever.

Perhaps the last point was a little over exaggerated. ;) That said if we do get 4th, we'll know we deserved it!

:)

Wigan have the FA Cup to look forward to as well. Most of their players will not want to miss out on the biggest day of their life ;)

A win for us would really put the pressure on the other two this weekend as they don't play until Sunday, so we'd be level games with Arsenal, one more than Chelsea, and above both of them by 1 and 2 points respectively. We're obviously capable, but doing it is another story. Let's hope the wave of confidence from the City result/ final 15 minutes is enough to spark them back into the self belief they had pre-mini blip, because when our players believe in themselves they can tear Wigan apart. Dembele, Bale, Defoe, Adebayor, Lennon, Siggy, Holtby, Dempsey, Huddlestone and even Walker and Ekotto, these guys all bring something (some more than others of course) which can really hurt an opposition defence, it's just a case of them fully believing in their own abilities. They did after the Dempsey goal v City and we played the way we should always play, freely and with real vigour.

I believe.

Gotta string some wins together, starting saturday. We do that, and I think other teams will drop points on sunday.

However, the basic instinct of a Spurs fan means we will not feel confident about winning at the DW.

Let's beat Wigan first.

& not many expected us to stuff City. Arse could easily stuff Yanited despite their sheer luck keeping them in the hunt recently. I said after we'd supposedly blew it after dropping points against Everton that momentum could shift. The same could happen to us now we're in the driving seat. You can never relax until it's done and dusted, this is Spurs.

Sadly they have won the league already although they don't roll over for anyone, will they be at full strength and motivated enough??
Fergies got his eyes set on the most points achieved in a season, mourinho got 95 at chelshit .
Also rvp will want the golden boot and with the cannibal missing the rest of the season , it's almost his(unless bale goes fucking mental in our last few games)

We have a great chance. We are on form and bale's back. If we apply ourselfs correctly we can beat anyone. can't ask for more.

No ones mentioned Giroud is out for the season, they're 2nd top goal scorer I think and only REAL striker. I know Gervinho, Walcott and Podolski can play there, but during there last 9 games - making the form team - Giroud has started every single one up front. Their form will blip without him

Just go into each game expecting to lose and take it from there.

Might end up pleasantly surprised.
Hahahahaaa. Such a depressing mindset but one that I completely understand and suffer from myself. Rather bleak to see it in print though.
