Very true! Will be a last minute sale special probably. Yeah, knew Kaboul had that, is very worrying, but hopefully it won't become an issue.

Yup Scotty should be off, but again as you say, Daniel wants his premium.

Heard Jake will probably be off on loan too.

Yes Jake will go out for sure but we are talking about this in July and 2 months to go!!
Scottys numbers are big!
AVB will also bid farewell to CD if DL can bring in adequate replacements.

If we secure Villa and Paulinho I would be happy to sign nobody else and sell a few fringe players. If we sign those hen surely it can only go downhill from here over the rest of the window?! I can't remember us having a better squad than this before. Keeping Bale is worth a "world class" signing too.
And have adebayor as our lone frontman?

If Kabouls knee is bad, could that be why we were reportedly looking at Alderweireld ?
Alderweireld not in the same class as Verthonghen though and still are doubts on him. He has this problem when he is shielding the ball and gets caught out and not worth the money quoted!

Ha good point, we both know we could be having this discussion on August 30th ;)

Can see someone paying decent money for Scott though tbf! And I'd be surprised if Clint went though, just can't see a huge overhaul

Are you referring to Dempsey? I was under the presumption he was being used for exposure to the US market.

To be honest, I'd rather we let go of Dempsey and bring in Honda. Both attacking mids and Honda would go a long way to give us exposure to the Japanese market as he's a massive player for them. Plus, the Japanes market is a lot bigger than the American one when it comes to "soccer".

It's why we're looking more at the youth prospects, don't need somebody to come in immediately, but want top top class youngsters to make the breakthrough in the next few years if needed

Dempsey, Parker and Huddlestone all off would be a pretty big statement of intent to overhaul with players that fit AVB's wants in my opinion.

Never seen him play myself so can't judge but he seems to rate himself fairly highly. Hopefully Kaboul won't suffer as bad as Ledders did and none of this will matter. It's concerning though.

Jedvaj may make some sense then? At 17, he could be afforded some time behind our top 4 choices and in a couple years could be considered the long-term partner to Caulker, should we rate Caulker highly (which hopefully we would).

I can see it too but Scotty wants more than just a 1 year deal understandably with his age and being on 70+ a week he needs to be compensated as some of the biggest suitors are from Div 1.....!!
Clint is one of those that Daniel will do and tell AVB after!

I wonder how does the board rates Caulker
Personally I see him as a very good prospect

I'm hoping they view him as the heir to Dawson. Not the most agile of players, but once he gets a little more experience he could be a rock in defense and paired with a player in the mold of Vertonghen/Jedvaj I think would bring out the best in each.

Yeah, exactly, reckon it will happen early august though, we shall see, I think we need to get him off the wage bill this year and before his value depreciates too much.

Hahah, without doubt! 'errrrr Daniel, Clint hasn't turned up to training all week' 'Did I not mention I sold him on sunday night to Liverpool Andre'?

We're looking at a couple of seasons realistically for him to be senior squad level, providing he does well. We'd want to loan him out to a Championship side one season, followed by a lower Prem side similar to Caulker the next. By that time we'd hope that, if everything goes well in terms of development, Caulker will have taken Dawson's place in the team and Jedvaj will become a young backup option like Caulker is now. You can see I love playing FM. :p

I think I would rather keep Clint and lose Ade. Clint will always give all he's got for the team, Ade won't - we can't afford another season carrying Ade. If anyone says signing strikers means we won't have to, then why keep him at all?

But Clint's not a striker. He grabs a few goals but ultimately he's an attacking mid or wide forward option. He could have a place potentially as the wide left man in a 4-3-3 which may suit him better than this year's roles he's been given, but he's not a central striker.
