What are you basing that one? Cos I'm guessing you weren't at home against Fulham Norwich Chelsea WBA Wigan Stoke Sunderland and Southampton?

Lennon forwards siggy Parker were between poor and average last season. Dempsey redeemed his non existent game with some goals. Dembele was patchy.

We bored teams to submission.

I think we have some very decent players, if Sandro gets fully fit I think our midfield 3 if we pay that way is formidable! Add the likes of Lloris, Verts, Soldado (hopefully), Kaboul, Ade & 1 or 2 others and we have a lot of top class players, again just my opinion.

If we get £85 million cash for Bale; I'd be surprised if Levy spent more than £40 million of it on players. He's just spent near £50 million net, add in my fathomed £40 million and we'll probably end up £20-30 million in the black due to Bale surplus and other outgoings.

I'm thinking if we sell Bale then we need a left footed forward/winger and I haven't seen us linked with many. Hopefully this is where Franco is under the radar sorting something out!

Remy is not going to be Bale's replacement. Christ, chill out. If there are any other clubs' fan forums out there with their version of a "Let's all laugh at Spurs thread" they'd be having a field day right now.

No, Levy ain't going to spend most of the money he gets for Bale, but it's not like he's getting 30 or 40 million. The money we're talking about is insane. Let's just say the £85mil tabled is accepted and after everyone gets their slice of the pie we're left with about £70mil. Half of that will go into investments like the stadium which is bloody important to establishing our long term future. The other half we can spunk on a Bale replacement like Lamela, for example. I use him as his name is thrown aboit a lot and he's good enough to become just as good as Bale and is good enough to walk into our first team right now.

this is the reason the £85m means nothing to me, it's a load of money but we still can't get the best players with it so what's the point? we're just going to overpay for more decent players, we already have a squad full of decent players.

I have to agree with this. £85m means nothing, If you can't even have an imagination with that much what's the point.

Rebrov was the next best thing

Acimovic was the next big thing.

Dumitrescu.

Bentley

Prince boatang

How many other flops?

Being good as a kid or having a good world cup or whatever doesn't always transpire as them being good for us.

a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush....its a saying....
Boateng isnt a flop hes an attacking midfielder and we were playing him in a holding role! Hes s great player now!

Don't forget we need a CB as well now!
Yep, good point. They don't come for free. I'll end up forcibly dragging Gareth out of the training ground at this point. He's crying and there's a whole scene. Awkward.

I think we have to be a bit more strategic in our hiring policy.

If Bale goes, I'd want us to get 90+ and Coentrao.

With the money I'd look to buy Suarez (weaken Liverpool and stop Arsenal getting him), Mata (if reports are true that Mourinho isn't a fan, would weaken them IMO, so they try harder to get Rooney, which weakens them as well) and Lamela (potential to rise in value similar to Bale).

We'd possibly break even or outlay slightly more but we could field a title winning team.

Soldado

Suarez Mata Lamela

Dembele Paulinho

Coentrao Verts Kab Walker

Lloris

Sandro able to come in so we can rotate and go 433 when required.

I think those players would be interested in joining as well. Suarez just wants out and needs a change. Mata we nearly signed previously and is a simple lifestyle move for him. Lamela would be replacing Bale and earning more, which helps him no end.

Only Man City would be comparable/stronger.

Keep smoking the ganja

This is my concern too, I mean, we won't get anyone that can be as effective as Bale in my opinion and we currently have one of the top 5 players in the world with us in him and we're not even in the CL, I obviously want us to do everything we can to keep him here.

Would love to just see Levy roll up in his car on SSN and say "Bale is not for sale, at any price, he won't be leaving this summer", it would just make my fucking day. I'd be going to shitty work with a massive fucking smile on my face.

The reactions to tweets and speculation that I sometimes see here, makes me consider the possibility that Family Guy is based on a true story.....
Quite embarrassing how dramatic and pathetic people are isn't it? Don't see why people need to wind themselves up and go crazy at the slightest bit of news. Wind yourself up during games when there is a result on the line, not when we're behind a screen discussing potential transfer gossip!

To be fair Val, speculation is all we have to go off.

The club in the past has come out to nip it in the bud (see Modric, summer 2011).

The silence fuels the speculation, uncertainty and therefore our concerns.

I'm glad the club doesn't come out and respond to every story and demand from ITK-crackwhore fans that need instant gratification; the more they respond, the more they will get asked. Just let the club do its job, we will get the news when they are ready.
