Get these 3 for 50m. Will take our spending to 110m. Sell Bale for 70m plus Morata and Coentrao. A few more deadwood sales and we would break even...
And would probably leave us having had one of the top transfer windows any club in the history of the game has ever had. It would be ridiculously awesome. Not holding my breath but crossing my fingers for a result half as good.

Imo this is what's happening.
Lewis had fronted the money to replace Bale before he goes. By the time the window shuts we'll break even.
Idiots will say we're big spenders when truth is it'll be yet another window when our net spend is very low.

I don't think Morata's on the cards. I think it'll end up as less than people think. Maybe £70 plus Contrao, making it £85m and still a world record. I don't take too much notice of the paper driven" £100m, no less" talk

If we use that money to buy Lamela and one of Eriksen or Pjanic, that's still a great window

I prefer to get those three and Coentrao and keep Bale and not worry about breaking even because we'll get it back from champions league football and Merchandise. Bale's profile would also rise, which means more profile. 110 million would be well spent I reckon.

If Bale goes it'll be for cash only. People keep throwing in these player names but I honestly don't see a cash+player deal at all. Coentrao will be a separate deal if we are going for him, but if not it'll be cash and a large lump of it upfront.

I think Lamela is the creative mid we really need in our side and would be a huge signing! I do believe this rumour that Joe Lewis is fronting the cash to really push us up there with the big boys and it's extremely exciting times for Spurs fans. Yes the buzz is slightly subdued by the ongoing Bale saga but despite that I'm still really looking forward to the next couple weeks

RM offer 85million plus players, Levy will ask for value of players and ask for cash, and then offer half the asking price for the players.... we all know this will happen :D

Nothing wrong with that.
If we have to sell Bale because there is no other way, then I am glad to see his money will be invested in the squad with some quality signings that have strengthened us in many positions oh and all for a near enough 0 net spend. That's called being clever.

Would hate to lose Bale, but IF he is going anyway then I am glad the club is going the right way about dealing with it.

I've no problem with it. As long as we don't weaken ourselves.

Am I the only one who is worried at the sheer number of players we are potentially bringing in? Pjanic and Lamela plus the possibility of Osvaldo means we would be sending out what is virtually a whole new team next season.

I don't believe we will be buying all of these, plus a left, plus a CB etc but I am concerned about squad cohesion. Too many new bods all at the same time can cause problems and if we don't start the season well then the natives will become restless.

I dunno why Roma would sell him to us for less than a ridiculously inflated fee. The coach doesn't want to sell him, and they probably knew or suspected Baldini would be back fishing for their talent.

Apparently they have some new American owners (or maybe not new at all?) who are loaded, so money might not be an obstacle for them.

Totally agree. Although Mourinho won the league with a huge investment in his squad.

I think avb would integrate new signings in smoothly rather than just dump them all in straight away.

Maybe, given the odd Osvaldo news - It's Osvaldo + Lamela for the reported fee?

I can only hope and would love it simply for Lamela. Plus adding Khal Drogo ain't bad, seems like a Cardiff (Khaleesi) move though...;)
I don't see Osvaldo a a legit target, there is plenty of info saying he didn't get along with Fun time Frankie and that he doesn't get on with Lamela. So I can't see why we would want him. Southampton seems ton e a serious destination for him and that says a lot as no top team is willing to gamble on him.

Yeah but Real don't have the cash, they want to throw a couple of players into the equation but players they are happy to lose and at inflated prices. Levy is right to say we don't want those but these and I would say Morata and Coentrao would be the players, maybe Jese Rodriguez. Coentrao wants out so that should be easy enough bar the haggling on value. Morata and Rodriguez Real supposedly want to keep but they promised both playing time last season and Jese got practically none and Morata only a little
I can see why Real want to keep both partly because both have really great potential but also because even Real are struggling to raise transfer funds in Spain these days and if they get themselves in more debt buying Bale then they know next year they will struggle for yet more funds so elevating two academy players would avoid this and probably keep a number of the fans happy who question the loss of a number of quality players from the academy over the years like Soldado, Negredo, Mata and Diego Lopez
I do think one of Morata or Rodriguez is gettable and will be part of the deal along with Coentrao, but there's still a lot of posturing, however I think Levy holds the better hand especially if Lewis is easing the purse strings

This is why it makes sense to sign all 3! They have played with each other a lot already so makes squad harmony a bit easier! Paulinho has played with Sandro, Chadli with Dembele and Vertonghen, Capoue with Lloris and Kaboul and Soldado with Thingybob.

Well he reportedly gave Lamela a slap and there seems a bit of dislike between the two so I have to agree. Other factors that make me think it's BS is that Osvaldo has a high opinion of himself so would want to be first choice main striker, he could have an argument with a mirror never mind his team mates and manager and he's imo not really that good anyway

Err Osvaldo and Lamela do not get along. Bringing Osvaldo in will not help squad harmony one bit imo
