Roma talk with Lamela agents
By Football Italia staff

Roma are set to meet with the agents of Erik Lamela to discuss his future after interest from Tottenham.
The London club, who are in the process of selling Gareth Bale to Real Madrid, have informed the capital side of their desire to sign the Argentine.

Spurs, who have also been linked with Roma’s Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, are reportedly willing to hand over €35m for the 21-year-old.
Lamela, who Tottenham director Franco Baldini knows well, joined the Italian outfit in 2011 from River Plate for around €17m.
The left-sided attacker has scored 19 goals in 62 League games for the Giallorossi since his arrival – 15 of those came during the last campaign.

Sky Sport Italia claim that Lamela’s representatives, including his father, will touch down in Italy today.

I posted yesterday that Roma were anxious to talk to him about a new contract. It would not surprise me in any way that we hear that he is staying, having extended and agreed a new increased offer. :( Been used.

If he stays then we can politely get Madrid the finger.

It should be we sell Bale IF we get our price and can guarantee we can bring in a quality (semi) replacement.

Me but that's like a bottom of the runt nightmare scenario.
I think it's imperative that we secure one of Willian or Lamela plus ideally Halilovic before we sanction any Bale sale but history tells us there's usually a spanner in the works when it comes to us and transfers.

i honestly think this could easerly happen and we will end up with Mcmanaman on the last night of the transfer window.
It's gone quiet on that front but we can quickly go from plan a) namely Lamela/Willian to plan z) in a short space of time.

Townsend's departure might accelerate someone like McManaman or Ince too I'd imagine but I'm certainly not advocating it.

I would love to watch the fallout from a multimillion pound scrap over silly hand gestures unfold, in real time.

Still, shows how lamentably far neoliberalism has come - the greedy assininities of the unjustifiably wealthy so accepted that they're a spectator sport.

These are not done deals, by the way but reported in Italy that Spurs are negotiating for both Lamela and Osvaldo. Baldini knows them well..

See, now, I'd love Lamela. No doubt about that.

But Osvaldo is a bit strange as I don't like the idea of selling Defoe right now, but I'm fine with selling Adebayor. In a perfect scenario, we'd have a guy like Soldado, a bench option like Defoe and a younger #9 striker that we can mold.

Don't think that we will pay 15m for a 2nd option striker. And we won't play 4-4-2. Unless Osvaldo is supposed to play in AMC role, kind of like Michu, but I doubt it.
