I do want to keep Bale but it seem less and less likely is one is to believe the ITK. But he has not come out even once to state he is happy to stay at Spurs so I see it as a lost cause. it seem he is not even in the frame of mind to play vs Crystal P. (my bad if it is really due to an injury).
But....why not put a positive spin on it then. For one, another sulking player is leaving. And if - O repeat if - the money is well spent, there will be more quality spread around the pitch and there will also me more quality in depth. One injury to Bale and lots of the attacking spark of Spurs will be gone. And he will be kicked a lot next season should Spurs keep him.
Say Bale for Coentrao, Morata plus cash; then add, say, Lamela, Rebic, Vadillo, and 2 CB amongst Sakho, Ilori, Chiriches, Doria

With so much speculation about his future and him and his agent clearly seeing the public opinion is that he is not happy to stay ... only a statement of him being happy at the club would be needed...

There's no point though. With Modric we had an excellent player, but one who was generally going to be valued at around £30-35m. He wasn't the sort of 'one-off' that would attract ridiculous bids beyond that, so there was no danger in Levy saying that he wasn't for sale (after the Chavs trying to sign him).

With Bale it's different. First of all he's a goal scorer. Second, he's one the top three attacking players in the world, and looks like he's only going to get better. The chances of some ridiculous offer coming in for him are fairly high (compared to Modric), so there's no point in Levy or Bale saying that he's staying at Spurs, when we'd clearly accept a £120m bid from Madrid if it was offered the next day.

The club have kept silent. Bale has stayed silent himself. AVB's comments are right down the middle ("I expect him to stay"...."but anything could happen"). Spurs and Bale are keeping their cards close to their chests. It's only those classless government-funded fucks Madrid that keep stamping their feet like the spoilt little shits they are.

If he stays he should be forced to issue a public apology for the hurt and trauma that he has caused all Spurs fans throughout the summer.

Or maybe fans should be forced to man up and not swing from ecstasy to suicidal tendencies with every new, load-of-bollocks media report? ;)

By staying silent?

I just don't get the sudden hate he has. He has not come out publicly and said he wants out. He may want to join Madrid (any footballer should). Only Marca, Madrid and publications that have used them as a source have said stuff. Is it his fault that no move has been done by now? No. Yeah, he could've signed a new contract, but he already has 3 more years, so not really any point when he'll likely be going next summer anyway. I'd prefer being a Spurs fan than Liverpool with Suarez's antics.

Sorry, but I don't think he needs to apologize to us for staying silent and IMO being respectful to the club that gave him the current stage on which to perform.

...you know there's probably a grant available somewhere to study the impacts of the transfer window on the mental health of poor fools like us...
