Well here's a quote:

Villas-Boas said: "For the games against Palace, Tbilisi and Swansea, he will not be in line to threaten to come back. We will have to see how he returns today from [international duty with] Wales, and assess if the pain in his foot has stopped troubling his progress to return into first-team training"

On the OS Palace v Spurs Team News page: Lewis Holtby (knee) and Gareth Bale (foot) remain out.

Looking at the photo of Rooney tonight, there may be other reasons to keep Bale from playing. I'm confident that Madrid have coughed up, but our PR has been dreadful if we agreed it weeks ago. Unless we're getting the £100 million in cash, that is.

Well here's a quote:

Villas-Boas said: "For the games against Palace, Tbilisi and Swansea, he will not be in line to threaten to come back. We will have to see how he returns today from [international duty with] Wales. He is complaining that the pain is of immense dimension and that 422 pages for his player thread on SC is not enough for a possible world record transfer. We will assess the thread in 2 weeks, and if we have 1000 pages, his foot will not be troubling his progress to return into first-team training"

On the OS Palace v Spurs Team News page: Lewis Holtby (knee) and Gareth Bale (foot / thread envy) remain out.

now with full quote

Why do folk take any of the ITK seriously ? A deal worth something close to £100m and people actually believe anybody but the top people involved have a clue ? Not a chance.

We'll find out the truth when it's either announced or we reach September. Otherwise, anybody telling folk what is happening are full of it IMO.

Dan Walker from BBC football focus:

4 different trusted individuals have all mentioned Ronaldo to #MUFC in the last 24 hrs. Interesting... very interesting! ⚽

surely that would have a bearing on Bale to Madrid?

Don't really know if im allowed to post twitter info so im sorry if ive broken any rules.

Theirs a guy by the twitter name of Spurspanyol he gets good info and relays alot of Spanish reports..... he Lives in Spain. He kept alot of Twitter Spurs fans in the loop with the Soldado deal and the things he was hearing over their. Nice bloke doesn't talk crap anyway he posted this on the Bale saga.
Theirs a journo who works for El Pais in spain who has close ties to Madrid the journo's name is Diego Torres. He says Madrid are v.unhappy with Bale and his Agent as they wanted them to put more pressure on Spurs to sell. Madrid wanted Bale to NOT TRAIN and to publicly say he wanted to leave. Also they wanted him to PLAY for Wales to basically show he was fit and just wanted away from Spurs.

He went into more saying basically Bale and his Agent don't want to annoy Levy and have not done anything that Madrid wanted that would rock the boat?.
Now obviously i don't know if this is true i dare say neither does Spurspanyol but i thought it was a interesting read and as i said he seems a straight up guy that just relays stuff he hears over their. Interesting stuff also that its a perez deal and he hasn't had alot of backing from inside the club especially as the price has spiralled...Perez thought he could unsettle Bale and basically do what they did with Modric ...it would seem its all back fired and now they need to pay up or sod off.

As i said sorry if i have broken rules on repeating Twitter stuff i just thought it was an interesting bit of info.

Evening all :)

Appreciate the info, posted in good faith and all. I think links to both the tweets and article were posted earlier this afternoon as it happens. Hopefully there's some truth to it.

If there's half a bit a truth in this story, it shows Perez is just a scum bag. Really hope Madrid never win anything while he is at the helm.
Barca all the way for me.

Funny way of trying to get us to sell our best player....by selling their best player to one of our rivals.

If United get Ronaldo there's no way we should let Bale go. There's really not a world of difference between us and United right now.

I would love it if we get Lamela, Willian and Coentrao and sell Bale. We'd still have another £20-25m or so left over for Eriksen and a CB. We would be so much stronger. Levy should make this happen if he can because we end up a much better side. How anyone can argue otherwise is beyond me.

Not sure anyone other than Spurs fans sees us as a rival to Utd.

Agree that it's basically like us giving united a world-class player inadvertently and this should be avoided at all costs. There's no real difference between quality of squads with us and united in my opinion; For me though united have a superior winning mentality/habit, something I don't think they'll lose this season. I read an interview fourfourtwo did with Vidic and he must have mentioned the word 'win' about 50 times. Who know's though if we can start well and get on a roll we could well finish above them.
