What if Soldado gets injured?
We still need one up-front IMO
Like I say, if we can get a forward then great but it has to be a quality forward not just a striker for the sake of it. I think we've left it too late to take a decent striker away from someone now though. I guess there's a chance of Leandro because their window closes at a different time over there.

Lets not forget though we have Defoe and Adebayor as cover at worst which isn't a bad thing. As long as we can get Adebayor in the right frame of mind of course. We've had players seem like they have no future come back in and make a place in the squad in the past so it's possible.

Soldado's pens are really papering over the fact we're not involving him one bit. I reckon he had 20-30 touches today? Nowhere near enough. He didn't have one chance in open play today. I can't wait for us to get a player in who actually attempts through balls to him.

Really think those chances will come as the squad plays together more. More familiarity = more fluid movement off the ball for everyone = more space = HAPPY SOLDIER (and fans). :)

Agree with this. Its a long season and if Ade leaves we definitely need someone else.

I am also amazed that anyone who had watched us could come to the conclusion that we don't need creativity. There is absolutely no point spending £26m on Soldado and not providing him with the service he needs.

We will have no excuse if we don't address these weaknesses imo as we will have money to burn with the Bale sale.

But then that can be the life of a sole striker plying a lone furrow - as long as he's sharp enought to convert his chances when asked upon him then we can all be glad.

I personally think that Eriksen is similar to Siggs?!
But he will be a great addition.

I believe we are at the moment close to a great team and a simply tweek can lead us to top 3.
However a wrong move can lead us backward...
We have the right players.

and the right manager
and the right DoF
and the right chairman
and the right fans
and the right u21 development team
and the right training facilities

It's only the first week for him! It takes time for the team to gel...

Although he is one of those strikers, he'll have games where he does nothing, and scores, and games where he does just nothing.

Worse - and you won't believe I'm not making this up. This is from The Guardian's Said & Done:

Romania: new last week from Gigi Becali, currently running Steaua from prison: 1) Agreeing by phone to sell Vlad Chiriches to Spurs for £7.5m; 2) Facing a prison inquiry over claims he used other inmates' phonecards without permission.

You meet such lovely people doing this transfer stuff, don't you?

Difficult as a lone striker with 2 defenders on you, hard to spot the crack to pass through. He often lays the ball of first time rather than hold it up or dribble (if there is someone to pass to) which means we have to find him again at some point in play.

All these people talking about signing Ozil and Mata, I'm finding it hard to disagree with you. Those two would really turn us into title challengers. There's a flaw in your plan though.

Lionel Messi at Barcelona is twice the player of either of them. If we really want creativity in the midfield, he's the guy we should be going for with the Bale money.

Levy's probably got quite a good book to write once he's retired.
