So that's what 100m gets you. ....Seriously chins up lads. It's not like we let Cardiff or Villa knock 3 past us.

Obviously a big game for the arsenal fans, they clung on for a 1-0 and celebrated like it was the cup final:).
not sure I saw Chadli earn his place next game but all in all with basically six new players who weren't here last year, it will get better.

A fearful AVB helped Arsenal immensely today, we spent most of the game passing sideways, yet he only chose to bring on a forward-passing minded player with around 15 minutes left. It was clearly an 'I will try and not lose rather than win mentality' and it backfired.
I have championed AVB since we got him but today, he let the side down badly.

I hope the Capoue knock is not the bad, he has been a great acquisition to this point.

Soldado looks the wrong type of striker for our game.
We need a Suarez type who gets involved in the game, Defoe offers more at the moment
I totally disagree, Soldado is perfect. He just needs service. Suarez is a great player but who is in the box with a striker like that?

It will be tough for him early on because we're going to take time to gel. I have no doubt that when Lamela and Eriksen get into the team we'll see the real Soldado.

I was wrong. We cannot play paulinho and dembele together or sandro and capoue. They're too similar to each other. Its got to be paulinho and sandro with holtby or eriksen (creator) in front of them. To those of you who knew that already, sorry it took so long to sink in..!

Also, Dawson will never fit this system. So poor today. He just doesn't have the skill or pace. But I'd worked that one out already. ;)

The season is over by the sound of a lot of you in here.

We lost 1-0 in a dull derby game at the Emirates with basically a whole new team early in the season. Get a fucking grip people...

Arsenal sat back and defended with 10 men at home against us and scored one on the counter attack. We will suffer far worse defeats this season. We lacked the cutting edge like we did all of last season, but Eriksen and Lamela will surely change that.

This result is nothing but a big shrug of the shoulders.

I wouldn't pay any attention to 90% of the comments right now until tomorrow, just emotions taking over logic

I hope folks now see why I bang on about upgrading dawson and walker so much.

If we continue with such liabilities we can't progress to the degree we need to and unleash the potential in the team. No point buying such quality and then leaving total wildcards on the pitch to bring everything down in a split second.

Occasionally you get freak results like this, just a shame it happened against that lot. One mistake has cost us but I saw enough to know we're better than them. Liverpool are more of a danger this season IMO.

Hardly a freak result.

Arsenal created chances and won.

We created fuck all and lost.

Dawsons weaknesses were plain for anyone who knows about football to see. I will be surprised if he ever gets picked in front of Kaboul

Think eriksen will make a massive difference after international break...need more creativity in no.10 position and he will provide it

I agree that some of us expected too much too soon so let's get real.

What do we need? More creativity, better set pieces and better defending. It can't happen overnight.

We have all the ingredients for a superb team, we just need to blend them together the right way and that will take both time and patience.

Well that was pretty average in the end, will look forward to getting Eriksen & Lamela into the starting line up! Hopefully they will be integral to getting Soldado into the game! On the plus side, we played terribly yet were still better than Arsenal I thought!

What is the point of buying Soldado if we arn't going to play to his strengths.
Thats 3 prem games played now and i don't think we have played him through once.

I agree, I do believe Soldado's strengths are most highlighted when he gets delivery or service.

Yet that's exactly what I think we have signed that little Danish Bun Eriksen for, to do those balls through towards him. Albeit, I was slightly disappointed to not see Holtby come on, but instead we went 442 :O.
