Chadli and walker both had poor as heck games. Our final ball was laughable at times. We had 0 creativity and soldado got no service at all. and the first sub to bring Defoe on really was the beginning of the end for me.
But hey always look at the bright side, we beat arsenal last season and they still finished above us...

Amazed at the comments on here. I was at Anfield so can't really comment as I only watched the game on TV, but come on.

We dominated them. Once everyone settles we'll be a force. And we all know we have the creativity waiting in the wings. I'm disappointed about the result but we dominated Arsenal in there backyard with a new team.

wtf you talking about?????

I think Arsenal deserved to win but what worries me is no goals from open play.

The same problems are there from last season in that our movement is sub standard.

I also don't believe in this 4-3-3 formation. We if we're playing one up it has to be 4-2-3-1, especially with Soldado. I said after the Palace game that he will end up a very frustrated figure if we stick with 4-3-3.

Fuck off some of you. I'm sure you're nice people outside of football but you're proper ****s on here.

We were devoid of ideas going forward but dominated in other areas. We need time to gel, Eriksen & Lamela will provide creativity in the coming weeks/months.

And generally, the team that loses the NLD go on a good streak after. Don't be so fucking horrible. By all means if you have to be negative, be negative, but don't be so vile. Very very early days and we've still won 2/3.

Come on guys, as hard as this is to take right now, trust me, we'll get there. Only 3 hours ago everyone was raving about this squad of ours, this result doesn't change that. It's a fcuking brilliant squad and with a bit of time we'll be ripping them fcuks in half, year in, year fcuking out!!

Trust me......all good things come to those who wait, and my, how we have waited!!

I was wrong. We cannot play paulinho and dembele together or sandro and capoue. They're too similar to each other. Its got to be paulinho and sandro with holtby or eriksen (creator) in front of them. To those of you who knew that already, sorry it took so long to sink in..!

Also, Dawson will never fit this system. So poor today. He just doesn't have the skill or pace. But I'd worked that one out already. ;)

Exactly what I've been saying.cant play a midfield 3 if none of them want to get forward or have any vision.even carroll would have been an upgrade on dembele today.isnt his game. Dawson was just very poor, don't suit the highline and can't bring the ball out well enough.commitment only gets you so far

I'll keep it brief;

Really hope Capoue is ok.
Sandro looked really good coming on.
Lamela will prove a valuable asset to us.
Kaboul can't come in for Dawson quickly enough.
Walker still brainless.

a walk in park for arsenal. as comfortable as it gets.

no game changer or winner or leader. no desire and urgency and tempo about our game.. pass all you want but to me without any player dictating or forcing the issue its just players passing the buck.

would be their till dooms day today and would not have scored. No matter what we do we dont have the real hunger and desire to win games like this. worrying. relying alot on lloris this year. he will be massive.

We were pedestrian in midfield and Soldado is definitely very isolated at the moment - but, to be honest, AVB and the coaching team must realise this and it will be worked on (hence, Lamela, Eriksen).
That said, even if it took until the final minutes of stoppage time (!), Arsenal were pegged back and were forced to smash the ball out for throw-ins as we searched for a goal. At the Emirates, too!
We're a work in progress. Yes, a lot of work needs to be done, but the team have been playing two games a week (including travelling to the likes of Georgia), and we've had a raft of new players come in. It's very frustrating to lose, especially to Arsenal, but I'd rather this happens now than in early December. If we're still playing like this then, there's no excuse. Today I'll give them a pass and look ahead to Norwich. I predict a wine and goal for us in open play - even if it is just the one.

I hope folks now see why I bang on about upgrading dawson and walker so much.

If we continue with such liabilities we can't progress to the degree we need to and unleash the potential in the team. No point buying such quality and then leaving total wildcards on the pitch to bring everything down in a split second.
We have options at CB but only Naughton for RB. All walker has is speed.
