We had our moment in time, where we could have become top 4 regulars, we blew it. We are going to enter a dark transitional period. Liverpool now threaten the top 4, should they get there, I believe he will be backed with transfer funds to buy players he wants not players the chairman thinks he should have. As for us the next coach will be told players have to be sold if he wants new players. I suspect many of our players will be only to pleased to be shown the door, as nobody wants to stay on a sinking ship. The next coach will also be a short term appointment.
Like I said, it's all over.

A bit OTT there me old china, but I understand how you feel. For me one of the most significant points was when we didn't sign that little shit Suarez, I don't know whose decision it was not to sign him, but he would've been the difference between us being 'top 4 hopefuls' and 'top 4 regulars'!!! :banghead: Another case of 'missed opportunity', something at which we seem so adept!!

Its not too late for a mass January fire sale !! We can fix this, lets take a look at the squad.... Left Back, Left Wing, Centre Forward & Striker. All we need is to sell one player to raise the funds for 4 !!

Na it doesn't matter about Suarez, even if he come in and done well, he would have be sold when RM came knocking.

Like we wouldn't have sold him to RM or Barca the moment they came knocking. Sorry mate but we had Modric Bale and VDV and we let them go. What makes you think it would have been different had we signed the biter?

As grim as it looks right now, we could turn it around. Football is full of ups and downs and for every bad day there's a good one just around the corner. We've just been on a long straight that's all. All is not lost yet*

*If Levy gets his next move right.

Only Guus Hiddink can save us.

Borussia Dortmund. Look at their Journey from their last CL win...and argueably leading up to their next one.

Every team has it's ups and downs, but f^ck it..that's why I'm a spurs fan. Our time will come boys, you can take your negative bollocks over to manchester city bud

Ah, this is A&C the good mod talking, trying to give hope to the masses.

You know as well as I do, Levy isn't going to make a right move. The only next right move he should make is step down and that's not going to happen.

For those of you who don't want sherwood as the next manager......wasn't last night actually a good result in achieving that and made it more likely that levy will pursue someone like De Boer?

Perspective is needed. Whilst last nights result hurts, would we really beat City over 2 legs in the semi? If we fail to beat Southampton at the weekend, it makes it more likely that we will not have to put up with a seaon long interim manager and levy will be trying harder for a big name replacement.

Sometimes it's better to lose the odd battle to eventually win the war.

I am absolutely 100% certain in my mind that Tim Sherwood will not be the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.

IMO the key to salvaging "the project" is to finish the season in such a way that we can keep hold of some or most of our best players such as Vertonghen, Lloris, and Sandro. If we have to go through another "transitional season" following more squad upheaval next summer, it really could all be over. If we manage to qualify for Europe in 2014-2015, we might have a chance of keeping most of the squad together. Accomplishing that seems like a daunting task right now considering that, given the way we are playing, a month from now we could easily be out of the FA cup and out of touch with the likes of City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Everton in the league.

I don't think that AVB had the team on track to accomplish our objectives this season so if it is true that neither he nor the board saw him remaining our manager next season, then I can't say I disagree with his sacking. There's all (except obviously the League Cup) still to play for and if we want to lift a trophy or finish top five, it will require a manager who represents a genuine improvement on AVB. Tim Sherwood most certainly is not that manager.

What we saw yesterday was like a team coached by a totally inexperienced, naive young Redknapp, who may not prove to be even half the man manager that Harry is. What we need in order for the team to "gel" is a tactically astute manager who commands the respect of the players and can get them playing his way quickly. A real football manager, not a neophyte learning on the job, no matter much Daniel Levy rates that individual.

Levy and Baldini need to act quickly on a more permanent replacement, whether it be a caretaker (ideally Hiddink) or preferably a long-term solution. They need to get the decision right and they need to do so before we fall out of touch with our objectives.

Bit dramatic although I can see why some feel that way. It is frustrating considering how well we were going over the last 2-3 years but its far from over for us.

I'm close to giving up the ghost on certain players at the club and wouldn't say there is a single player I would be devastated about if sold. The closest to that would be Hugo, Vertonghen and Sandro right now but if we are being brutally honest, all three have looked dodgy at times this term. Jan being the most alarming as with the other two you at least get 100% at all times.

Get a proper manager in, let him decide what to do with the players ( if he wants Lamela, Chadli, Capoue and Soldado gone after five minutes then so be it ) the tactics and the whole effing set up. That would be a start.

I think the criticisms of Sherwood are unnecessary. He had less than 48 hours to prepare for that game. You can hardly judge him. Besides we were 1-0 up until the 80th minute so it wasn't like he had a total mare.

More worryingly, our squad is completely ravaged by injury. I mean Paulinho, Vertonghen, Townsend and Kaboul are all out for at least the next few weeks. Then Rose, Eriksen and Adebayor still need to gain match fitness. Not an easy way for any manager to start let alone the circumstances surrounding the club at the moment.
