Capoue yes. Bentaleb is no where near their standard.

If we're talking at this moment in time, then that's a point that will divide opinion. I can't say I agree that as we speak Bentaleb is as good as Schneiderlin.

MS seems crucial to the way Poch wants the team to play and I'd rather have him in the team and allow Bentaleb (who has the makings to become that player) to continue developing as his understudy, than go into the season relying on him to anchor our midfield.

I still think we are fine in midfield with Sandro/Capoue as our "destroyers" and Dembele/Paulinho as our more attacking deep CMs, with Bentaleb capable of playing both positions, but if Poch thinks Schneiderlin is that important, I guess we have to trust him.

My worry with it was how much AVB wanted Moutinho, who hasn't turned out as great as we all said, and even Hulk (to a lesser extent). Poch was desperate for Osvaldo at Southampton, he's been a complete failure. Dembele looked as good at Fulham as Schneiderlin does at Southampton too, as another example.

Personally for the ~25m quoted, one look at our squad depth chart alone would have most neutrals raising their eyebrows. Surely CB and LW are far more important than CM.

Not sure, just wondering seeing as he is a defensive midfielder - purely putting two and two together and coming up with 18.

I reckon JJ is talking about the express article with Musacchio and Dier (every man and his dog knows about our interest in the Soton two already).

Only concern is they talk of Musacchio as a replacement for Verts. I call BS on that part though as Barca will look for an easier deal...
