It is frustrating to see our rivals getting a lot of their signings in with plenty of time to bed them in and get them adjusted to their team mates and manager before the start of the season knowing full well we will make our moves 2-3 games in and potentially dropped points that could cost us at the end of the season due to not having a complete squad or playing players who signed late and took longer to adapt than they would have had we made our moves sooner

I still hope that we can get our targets in with time to bed them in before the start of the season

Yeah but we have a big squad which we did major surgery on last summer.

Getting Lamela, Eriksen, Soldado, Chadli and Paulinho integrated and settled with the new manager is equally important and we've addressed the one serious weakness in the squad (left back). The rest is luxury/nice to have/fine tuning so if it takes time to get the right players at the right price so be it.

Pochettino was brought in to make the most of the squad we have and certainly the most talented crop of academy graduates I can remember us producing

What have I missed...?

Well someone was slagging off JJ (coincidently enough) and then some other poster (definitely not me) decided to tag A&C in a post. I was like "look dick head, chill out and get a grip" but he was having none of it.

If your suggesting (an i may be wrong that you are) that Sandro could become a center back then the club really have little ambition. I can't think of any perennial top four team who use a converted midfielder as a center back full time, though i think Man Ure did dabble with this idea when Ferdinand and Vidic were injured last season or the season before.

To spend (net or gross) over one hundred million last season plus whatever we end up spending this season without sufficient CB coverage makes a mockery of the DOF role.

Vincent Kompany, was a
Midfielder, now probably the best Center back in the league!
