Holtby could be debatable but a few decent halves in pre season has not elevated Mason above Bentaleb, no way, and nor does he deserve it because Bentaleb has proved himself already in this league in a shambles of a team as well..

Bit worried about our back 4 but should be okay.
Hoping to see some good link up between Lamela and Eriksen.
Would have also preferred Soldado over Adebayor due to his ability to link up with quick passing and movement.

I'm not at all surprised Poch has chosen Bentaleb alongside Capoue for his first competitive selection.
If Poch could take Schneiderlin from competent and workmanlike to pushing for a start in the French national team, imagine what he can do with a talent like Bentaleb.
And if we can't do a deal for Schneiderlin this window, because Soton are asking for too much, we may not need to do a deal come January.

Well done Poch for resisting playing Dawson so passed your first test!
Rose probably deserves to keep his spot and Naughton is a lock for RB in Walkers absence. Looking forward to seeing Dier again after impressing against Schalke.
Glad Capoue is fit and in there and him and Bentaleb compliment each other well.
Lennon has done admittedly alright pre season so can see why he started and thoroughly looking forward to having Eriksen and Lamela in there interchanging and hopefully adding real class in the final third.
Ade or Soldado? Well, I'd have plumped for Ade too although needs to up his fitness and he needs to come out firing otherwise we'll get languid Ade again with little hold up play.
In any case, come the fuck on and let's get our season off to a flyer against a complete bunch of ****'s!
