If Mussachio is still a possibility and we're now looking at Umtiti and Fazio, how well does that bode for Jan's new contract? Why is it taking so long to announce? Either it means Jan's off, or we're holding back on the announcement as a "good news" event.

Yes what we deffo need is to bloat our squad with more cover/average players.

Yeah it's hardly inspiring with Rose, Naughton, Walker and Fazio in there and though Dier looks like he could prove an inspired signing it's a bit too much expectation to load onto the lad so soon.
When you add to that Davies is still very much a developing player rather than the finished article, Umtiti is still learning and would need to adjust to the PL and Verts showed again last night that he hasn't put all of his casual and focus lacking displays behind him last season then it still wouldn't inspire too much confidence
That said I do feel in Dier and Davies we have two defenders who could develop into very good, solid players and think the same is we could add Umtiti

Dier, Yedlin and Fazio have all been transfers that have come out of the blue.

This window has been weird.

I think it great business if they were actually prime targets, and not the remnants of what is remaining in the market. Keep the business under the radar and keeps the price down. Hats off to the scouting system if they were prime targets :notworthy:

Interesting that JJ sounds far less confident on Fazio than the Sevilla manager.

If JJ ends up being more ITK than him regarding one of his own players then I vote we deify him, build a statue, name one end of the new stadium the 'JJetset end' and give him his own bank holiday.

Seville have pulled Fazio out of their La Liga opener. Points at stake.
Fair to say, we have an agreement with the club and the player is happy to go.

Musacchio was pulled out a friendly. A world of difference.

Surely you mean "wank holiday"? ;)

Has the Sevilla coach mentioned 'Spurs' or just the fact Fazio is likely to leave???

Fair point. Talks about his departure but doesn't mention any one club in particular. Can't see that he's been linked with any club other than us mind you.

Re: Carroll, massive opportunity for him at a club that will suit him to a tee in terms of playing style, and I genuinely believe he'll suit the PL more than the FLC. Last chance saloon but couldn't ask for a better one really.

Re: Fazio - starting to sound nailed on based on reports in Spain but weird that no ITK, or Spurs linked journos Stobart, Dixon, Pearce, Collomose, Jacob, Bridge/Thomas etc.. have run with the story either. Could be like the Yedlin deal (leaked in US) I suppose, and at least there are no third party issues. Prefer the sound of Musacchio to be honest and not sure if this is trying to squeeze his agent/River or even just Fazio negotiating a new contract...
