If you look at the video where Harry Kane's new contract is announced the interviewer mentions 'next year', despite the contract being announced this season. The club trickles information out when they fancy it, probably to actually maintain a steady flow of information to the public more than anything.

I doubt Welbeck will go to Arsenal. Just doesn't feel like a Wenger type signing.

The guy will try to convince everyone (and himself) that Sonogo and Podolski will suffice until Giroud returns.

Thems my onions anyrate

Good job your lot aren't based in the Falklands with the size of this Argie invasion

Probably not worth posting at this stage, but as always I share what I hear as close to how I hear it as I can.

Don't understand why the club would delay announcing Vertonghen's contract.

The theory that they want to do a double announcements doesn't make sense to me. These days clubs like to spilt announcements i.e. City announcing contract extensions once per day last fortnight. Maximises media exposure.

Perhaps Vertonghen has verbally agreed on the terms but if it was formally done, then I think it'd be formally announced. Sorry to disagree with ITK. Just an un-informed opinion. NITK, if you will.
Signed contracts are not always announced immediately and sometimes not announced for months. All clubs do it. Not sure why but I know this to be true 100%.

Driussi springs to mind although we haven't had any further news on that one for a long time.

I keep going back to this idea in my head.

re:

Rebrab

Normally I never bother posting it when its so clear, but because there's been so little information on the boards about this particular deal I will say Fazio fee is done. Also I had no idea about him until a couple of weeks ago (and that was through public information!) so its fair to assume that we've moved quickly on this one. DL loves a release clause and keeps them in his back pocket in case he needs to deal late - I said this last year and I'll say it again, don't be surprised if we trigger one if we're in need of another player, although personally I think its just another Midfield Superstar if anyone.

That along with "if it happens" from JJ, and Stoof's Wingéd Forward,

I think we may go back in for another Argentinian, Nicolás Gaitán. He would fill the job as a wide forward perfectly. His wages are also likely reasonable (Benfica). It is a pipe dream, but he has a ~£35.6m buyout clause, which is not totally out of our realm.

I could most definitely see him being a "backup" as we would likely look at cheaper options first. Gaitán would also most definitely be classified as a midfield superstar.

If that was all the text said it could be talking about Fazio

Well Bobby can score a penatly so he would have got at least 2...:p
This sounds like a reasonable way to do it. I'm sure Levy would really be happy to entertain a HUGE bid, if this does not materialize then no problem announce the new contract- a Levy win/win

An a huge bid is not 25 million. More like 60 million.
Louvren was 20 million odd; luiz was 50 million. Verts is better than either.
