I think you guys are overthinking the Ade situation. Pochettino named him a vice-captain for a reason - Pochettino obviously sees something in Ade tha we do not.

Or maybe Pochettino just saw what happened when AVB refused to play Ade, and how that worked out....the lesson is obviously play Ade, or lose your job.

Or play Adebayor, let him go on a great run of form, still lose your job (Re: Tim Sherwood). Best to just sell Adebayor in January if we want Pochettino around after this season.

It doesn't matter what Poch sees, what we see on the pitch week in, week out from Ade simply isn't good enough, when there are players in better form on the bench.

Curse is actually a good word to describe. It is illogical to blame the Thursday-Sunday thing. I never tire of reminding people we won the League Cup on a Sunday after a EL game.

I think it's been talked about so much it's got in our heads, or our players' heads more importantly.

Though I suppose if you have a full week to prepare for the league game as opposed to having to prepare for two games, it does make a difference - but if we want to be successful we should get used to it, and I don't think it's too much to ask from a large squad of professional football players.

I can understand why people think that Kane should start but really don't see what Soldado has done to deserve a chance

Why would Levy want £5m Adebayor to play ahead of £26m Soldado?

Ade will be delighted to start.. nothing like an afternoon stroll to limber you up for the night of dancing ahead..

Well then, perhaps you should give Levy a ring, and let him know you are available to take over for Pochettino.

The two sides thing ain't working at the moment. Let's hope it starts today. Any true pro you ever listen to says they want to play every game and hate being "rested"

As I sit pitch side with my usual optimism it does strike me that we have been here before with Ade. But the truth is when he is out of the team it is not long before we are gagging for him to be re-inserted into the lineup. The reason is that there is nobody else who can hold the ball and Poch obviously realises this.

United are beating Everton and currently 4th in the EPL. 65 mins.

Wouldn't get over excited about United. They haven't played anyone yet. Everton are on paper the strongest team they've faced and even they are shite, and after a tough away trip to Russia.

I'd be amazed if United were top 4 this season, unless they spend £100m on central defenders this January

Ade has not been as bad as some of you make out

no worse or less effective than erik or eric. if we just blame one or change one man we can think the rest will magically transform themselves. id actually go chadli up top and play dembele as well as mason. we need more runners from deep. against a strong mids today.

I personally would have gone three in midfield, Dembele - Mason - Capoue ... I fear we've already conceded the middle of the park before the games even begun

Hmm, I wonder if Ade would have been in the starting line-up if we had secured the signing of Welbeck on the final day of the transfer window. I reckon Pochettino recognises that Ade could easily gain form and start having a big impact for us, but could also (if handled incorrectly) become a very toxic influence on the squad. I think by this time next year Poch will have signed some one or two new strikers.
Hoping for a good performance today from the lads, 2-0 would be a good confidence boost going into international break... Coys!

Yeah-but we now need to win by 3 goals to go 4th today unless the Toffees score.
