An eyewitness said Mr Josif was at the scene shortly after the blaze broke out and was clearly very upset.
“The owner was already there, ranting and raving about it being a petrol bomb, he was clearly very upset.
"There’s CCTV all over the place because the factory is right next to the football ground so there could be footage of the fire starting for the police to investigate.”

How does he know it was a petrol bomb ? How did he get there before fire engines ?

Good questions. The owner has chanced his luck with the legal process and looked like losing.
Can you imagine his sleep at night? I bet he ain't had a decent kip for years. Sometimes people just snap.
There has to be CCTV to solve this mystery.

I don't really see how this should effect us - everyone saying it's the worst thing that could possibly happen - I thought the same initially, but thinking about it, what would it really do to the situation and the High Court verdict on the CPO?

If some idiot Spurs fan ends up being prosecuted why should that effect the club or the bid? There's no connection between the two - it's not like Spurs could be accused of sending someone in. It's possible things might drag out a little if a criminal investigation needs to be conducted on the site, but the judgement isn't due to sit for months anyway.

Not sure this would honestly make any difference - we want the land, not the buildings. They were refusing to sell the land, not the buildings (not really). The only real impact looks like it would be from a PR point of view - people will make jokes, and the crazy owner clearly wants to create an arson case to somehow try and help his resistance to the bid. But it won't. If anything if the workshop is destroyed, do they even have a viable business on the site anymore?

It looks suspicious to me but more from the 'did they sort this themselves, or try to turn an accident to their own advantage' rather than 'could this damage Spurs'.

The only thing that would have bought Archway more time was this.
Maybe it could speed things up...

It may prove to be some kind of arson. Whether it was a disgruntled spurs fan or an accomplice on behalf of Archway we may never know.

It also gives Archway/Josif the opportunity to save some face and use this as the reason he's packing up the business and not because Spurs/Council won the 'battle'.

I could also be clutching at straws.

Personally, whilst its not nice for someone's business to go up in flames, I hope this has broken Josif's spirit and he now takes the offer on the table.

They could drag it out months

Old man Josif could appeal to have the CPO appeal delayed because of 'stress', then there is the police investigation and the fact the building will need to be used as evidence for any trial, then there is the PR war

I can see the CPO appeal being delayed a year or more and us even losing it now

I took a stroll past just now. The Dear Leader was there, unable to hold back the tears. I thought it odd that he was holding an onion under his nose, and asked why. He said it was an old Yiddisher remedy for a head cold.

Seemed perfectly reasonable to me.

Hopefully Josif Squared just packs up now and moves. How much time and energy does this guy want to waste in rebutting this move? There's only one way this story ends.

Take the money, build yourself a better new factory and live your life, FFS
