Will tickets be available through the site for Forest? At uni up here and gunna go and cheer the lads on with a few Spurs mates.

I assume it'll be the same as the games here. You most likely can go to the ground at the time and buy one. They will ask what team you support and give you a ticket depending on what you say. At the Wolves and Utd games their fans sat in designated areas

Likely yes. Someone will probably post ticket details on this thread from either Spurs or Forest OS

Salute from one u21 coach to his predessor

  • Ugo Ehiogu‏@UgoEhiogu
Chuffed to see Chris Ramsey get the QPR Job until the end of the season. Vastly experienced football man and a top bloke. Good to see Mr Fernandez rewarding and trusting british talent

Happy for him but for pure selfish reason I hope he decides against management and comes back. I actually think our academy has struggled abit compared to last year especially in the loans department

Compared to last year, when our loan strategy was "send everyone to Swindon, and when they run out of loans sell the rest of them to Swindon"?

I'm curious, why exactly do you feel this way? Not disagreeing with you per se and sure I'd like to see Ramsey come back, but I don't see where we're having a problem in this regard.

Tommy C got a Prem loan after a not so stellar season with QPR in the Championship (and to a midtable side no less), Pritch went from League One to now a Championship side in the playoff places, Velkjovic managed to get a loan in the Championship for his very first loan and stay in the Championship after very few appearances with the former, McEvoy managed to get another loan after a poor spell with Portsmouth, Fredericks and Archer each got respectable loans... and so on and so forth. So again not really disagreeing with you, but I just fail to see where things have gotten worse per se and am curious as to why you feel that way.

Were you possibly hoping for more loans, rather than critiquing the quality of the loans we did get?

Whilst I don't disagree with you, but to be honest that strategy could of been helpful this year

The thing is carroll didn't have a great season but not one player in the QPR squad had a good season bar probably Zamora.

Veljkovic and Fredericks got a great loan because of pochettino, he is close friends with Karanka. Though Fredericks had a good loan in the championship with millwall last season and he likely told Karanka, Vejkovic is class. Don't forget veljkovic didn't get a game till near the end at which point he was brought back to not play for us before being sent elsewhere.

I don't think Archer loan is yet to be determined as to how good it was, he did have a trial there so that may mean he will go there afterwards.

The McEvoy is a funny one, he was doing well at peterborough before his injury but since has struggled. I hope he can find some form but league is the right level.

Its the new player loans Im abit disappointed with Oduwa and Ball, they should be doing better than league 2. I understand developing them for the long term like pritchard but league 2 is a big risk as sometimes it doesnt always happen for you. Same for Coulthirst, he is better than that level but the manager didn't fancy him at southend or orient and his reputation and confidence took a knock. Despite fans of both clubs saying he has done well every time he has come on. If Ball doesnt hit the ground running I worry about what it may do to him. As for Sanupe, I worry he may not get game time but it will interesting. He did come on against New York City.

I also worry about the continuity of the academy, McDermott has stayed but the coaches have been changed alot. Ramsey had been there for a long time as had Inglethorpe. Both were a month ago the academy directors at their respective clubs with Inglethorpe arguably at a better academy(I only say that because their route to their first team is easier than ours, as they give players a chance more).

The current coaches haven't been there from academy has been restructured and only been here at the club for the last couple of years.

Not really sure you can say Liverpool's academy gives players a better route to the first team than ours...

In what capacity would he come back, though?

He's not going to take John McDermott's job. And he's not going to want to go back to being U21's or U18's coach.

Besides, we've got promising new coaches doing those jobs. Best all round if Ramsey can prove himself as a first team manager.

Our academy will continue to go from strength to strength. The U18's this year aren't as strong as last year's. But the U16's are looking very promising indeed.

I agree he could never come back in an academy role and it would harsh on John McDermott but then again he could do Timmy's old job and become technical director of some shit or another.

There was talk of Chris Ramsey being touted as a future manager, I could see that happening if the QPR job went well.

At the start of the season I agreed with that, but I'm starting to change my mind now.

CCV + Maghoma a year older at CB
Onomah a year older too
New signing Azzaoui being a bit of a revelation
Georgiou on the other wing is a different player this season
Harrison > Akindayini IMO
KWP developed really well in the last 12 months

No doubting that Ogilvie, Winks, Miller, Lesniak, Oduwa etc formed an incredible team, but I do think this year's is just as good. We are not doing quite so well in the League as we haven't actually put out our first team quite alot of the time.

I would agree with you about this year's team - they are developing very well and you could include Luke Amos and Cy Goddard as players to watch, very promising. In they league, they are doing very well considering they rarely play the strongest team and have played teams where midfielders have made up the entire back 4.

I think that is what he meant as Onomah, CCV and sometimes KWP and Maghoms have featured for u21s leaving the back up u18s. Howver their full team is very good and even the second string are sitting well in the league. I also thought that the u18s didn't seem as good but that I'd because their best team is hardly available.

Though I think Georgiou has always performed well for them. He is just getting more recognition now.

Also regarding the loans when laid out they do appear quite well especially the start of season only Veljkovics haven't quite gone to plan for various reasons which is a shame. However the second half loans have been very disappointing club wise. Though Oduwa has sounded like he has gained a lot of fans already. Definitely would have liked Bal. And Odysseus to have gotten League ones

hopefully they get on. Dont know Edwards isn't starting he was easily their best player in America.

Agree with this. Has been a decent Season considering the absence of CCV and injury of Maghoma. We have integrated some of the younger and newer players and while they don't seem like stars they are performing well. And showing potential.

Jesus, England u-17 are 4-0 down, not a great start eh.

Tbf this age group is terrible. they were schooled by the US and I think got beat by Australia. Their only decent performance I think was against Brazil which they drew if I remember. The best 2 players were Edwards and Oxford who were 2 years younger. Now they are facing proper sides this doesn't surprise me.

Also it's mad to think CCV is eligible for this age group but is too busy playing US u20s
