Ye. This is major. Things is since last year for u18s I would love to see the stats but he was constantly in the news feeds as being invovled or assisting. And any matches I saw he always played well without fail and he also got an opportunity against Norwich u21s and did well when he came on, whcih shows he is getting acknowledgement, hwoever last year Oduwa was on the other wing. Plus we had Onomah, Winks, Sonupe ahead of him and the other top players in that age group who over shadowed him. Now this year, we ahve Azzaoui who ivery much a flair player and Edwards coming trhough and so again the hype is on those two, and while most acknowledge his performances he still isn't talked about. However, similar to Miller if he was at any other academy he would be raved about. I said earlier and I stand buy it I think he deserves and England call up. Would be great for him. Def one not to be written off, though noone is

Yeah Azza is very much a flair player, and consequently the one to end up on the highlights. I have to acknowledge that Georgiou has unfairly been overshadowed a bit as a result of this, and of course I must acknowledge that because I haven't helped as even in this thread I've showered Azza with praise upon watching the highlights. Az deserves it of course, but Georgiou is one helluva player and one who deserves more credit and discussion than he's received. I love a pacey winger who can thrive on and make things happen from either wing, especially with a more diverse range of tricks than just cutting in to shoot while playing inverted or heading to the byline while playing traditional. Loved seeing how quickly and aggressively he attacked any pocket of space which was shown to him, regardless of which angle it was off to. Would love to see him possibly given some minutes towards the end of the season if our fate is determined, similar to what Sherwood did for Pritch last year.

I really like this and it's why I think more outside of this thread should pay attention. I know as Spurs fans we have been conditioned to be pessimistic and I am, however our setup is very much something to be optimistic about. You and the others in this thread keep yourself updated though sometimes unable to see some matches due to either time or location, but others aren't really interested. So when some of us reel off a list of players we think should be given a chance, most people, understandably so, will say yes but they can't all make it assuming we are just making some scatter gun decisions. To think you have come away after this match thinking there are 3/4 top players who could do a job in cup games now or next season, plus 7 more either on loan or age group above that could do the same, and that is excluding Azzaoui, Edwards, Georgiou, Maghoma, Harrison, and others who impressed like Amos, Stylianides and Sterling not forgetting Yahaya. We really do have a massive job on our hands integrating these in the future.

Yeah absolutely, and it's reasons like this why I wish they'd show more of our youth matches as Man U and Chelsea do. Our academy kids and their coaches have clearly put in hard work and deserve to showcase it. I'm hoping with the increased output of highlight clips, and the consequent social media discussion of them every time, that this will be discussed in the future if not something already in motion. There's just no way the club didn't notice how much buzz there was yesterday after this match.

And credit again to you guys. Ha I still don't think Ceballos was all that, but other than that I tip my hat to you guys for being well-grounded for good reason in your excitement about these youth set to come through. Keep on keepin on with your preaching about these young bros, as it'll make it all the sweeter for you in a few years when they're getting it done in the Prem and you're leaning back in your stadium seats smugfacing like fiends in Amsterdam alehouses.

Although, of course, not all of these players will make it to Spurs 1st team - or any other EPL side for that sake - these are players who right now are the most likely candidates to make the grade (and some of them will make it)...

GK Voss, Glover, Whiteman

RB Walker-Peters
CB Ball, Carter-Vickers, Ogilivie,Tanganga, Maghoma
LB Brown

DM Veljkovic, Amos, Lesniak
OM Pritchard, Sonupe, Onomah, Edwards, Winks, Yahaya, Cy Goddard, Miller

RWF
CF Oduwa, Kazaiah Sterling
LFW Georgiou, Bennetts, Azzaoui, Oakley-Boothe, McEvoy

PS! I do know that several of these players can play in various positions

Agree with the general sentiment of this. Due to Chelsea not really bringing anyone through their setup is underrated though it is not much better if at all than ours. They have done brilliantly recently and their u18s and u21s have some good players, however ours are just as good or better than theirs. I also think with regards to England they still have club reputation that get their players in the Eng set up. For us it needs to be our absolute standout players to get into the national team where as their 'very good' players can get in. I don't think Kiwomya is better than Oduwa but he plays for the u19s.

With regards Chelsea players and one of the England under-age teams, I read somewhere that a Chelsea coach is part of the England set-up which will benefit players that he knows well and works with every day.

There is a lot of misinformation about Chelsea's youth teams. Firstly Chelsea play predominantly Under 17's in the Youth league we play in.

Spurs also give a number of young players experience in the U-18 team through the season and at overseas tournaments always use under-age players in the team as part of their development. When they played in the NI Milk Cup, the young players like Amos and Goddard were the stand out players even though they were up against players two years older and much taller and physically stronger. It was excellent experience for them.

Lots of good positive reading so thanks to all for the input.
Often look for game streams on the web when I can but usually end up just watching any highlights I can find.

i noticed yesterday that winks was sitting behind the subs bench. obviously he wasn't in the matchday squad but it's still good experience to be away with the first team for a big game. i think now is the time for us to be looking at a loan move for him .... that said, i'd rather have seen him come on yesterday than paulinho, at least we know he wouldn't back out of challenges.

Spurs XI defeated Fulham 3 - 1 in friendly at Hotspur Way. Akindayini (2), Miller

Team: McGee, Paul (Muscatt 89), McQueen, McEneff (Owens 66), Khumalo, Ogilvie, Lameiras, Ward, Akindayini (Loft 87), Winks, Miller (Ross 89)
Report from OS

Threw in some of our u18s in what seems essentially like an u21 fixture so was a good experience for them. Nice result. I wonder if Akindayini scoring means he'll go back to striker for u21s, though Miller also scoring might upset that for him

I think we are also protecting our young by not show casing them.
