Lloris

Walker Fazio Vertonghen Rose

Stambouli Bentaleb Mason Townsend

Eriksen

Kane

Subs: Vorm, Dier, Davies, Winks, Dembele, Chadli, Soldado

I'd go 4-4-1-1 in this, set up in the opposite way to which Redknapp used to set us up. Walker as RB allowed to bomb forward, with Stambouli covering when he does - and Stambouli able to tuck in to create a midfield three when we're defending. Rose to sit and Townsend to offer genuine width on the left.

If it's not working we can easily switch it to a genuine 4-3-3 or swap out Stambouli for Chadli or Dembele to go back to a 4-2-3-1.

The benefit of 4-4-1-1 though is that it's solid in the middle and offers genuine width in attacking positions. We've played it twice this season - been two of the best performances we've put in...

The last couple of weeks have been a screaming disaster. If Poch is able to turn the absolute shite they've been dishing up recently into a positive, coherent performance, he will be a managerial genius to rival Bill Nick. As it is, I think we'll get mightily shat on whoever we play.

Whoever plays I'm sure they'll be well prepped and feeling fresh... Oh no wait minute.

So time for a good day out.

Think we've been suffering a bit from the pre-cup nerves, so form has not been good in tyhe last few games. Think most of the team picks itself.

Lloris
Walker, Der, Vertonghen, Rose
Mason, Bentaleb
Townsend, Dembele, Eriksen
Kane

Subs : Vorm, Fazio, Davies, Stambouli, Chadli, Lamela, Soldado

Perhaps the only debate is over Lamela and Towmsend, IMO Townsend will start as Lamela played the full game.

Players missing out include : Yedlin, Chirches, Paulhino, and Capoue, Kaboul, Adebayor

Townsend Dembele Eriksen
Kane

Subs: Vorm, Fazio, Davies, Lamela, Paulinho, Chadli, Adebayor.

Their weakness is gonna be in defensive midfield, really wish we had an in form winger as I'd rather Eriksen in CAM and Dembele CM (he was major reason why we comfortably beat Chelsea at WHL).

Lamela and Townsend have been woeful. Pity we couldn't recall Pritchard. Standout performer in Championship at the minute and exactly what we are lacking to play alongside Eriksen and Charlie behind Kane IMO.

Townsend to play - he actually attacks the full-backs and wins a fair few free-kicks so hopefully he'll get ivanovic sent off, resulting in Mourinho going into full sandy vagina mode and exploding with rage.

Chadli is massively pissing me off currently and I'm amazed that he is getting away with scrutiny tonight. I know he's had family stuff going on, but since the Chelsea match where he was beastly and worked extremely hard, he hasn't got anywhere near that in terms of workrate. Tonight he showed the least fire in his belly of any of them. A great big fairy. I don't like rewarding players after weeks of phoning it in... I think a message needs to be sent out by Poch to the squad and he's one of the prime candidates for it due to noticeable lack of effort recently, don't put the effort in during the bread and butter games then you don't play the big games.

I'm sure he'll play some part, I hope he sticks in the winning goal, but I think he'll be a lucky boy after coasting through the last few weeks.

Family stuff?

His Dad died 5 weeks ago.

Yet he was back playing for us 10 days after it happened.

His form and confidence have taken a dip.

Go figure.

The same team that beat Chelsea in the League, though I've put Dier/Fazio I'm not 100% sure on that. Dier has come in in-place of Fazio, but a lot of our goals conceded have seen both of them at fault, though either of them instead of Kaboul is a definite.

the Chadli and Lamela is another tricky one. Chadli's not been the same since his loss, and Lamela I thought was starting to become an asset, though hasn't been the same since his injury, though I'm still really waiting to find out how good he can be

whatever team goes out there at Wembley, they are going to have to work their bollocks off. Wembley pitch (Bigger size) will suit Chelsea more with their players. when we haven't got the ball we will need to close them down asap which will make the pitch smaller. when we have the ball, we will need to pass it a lot better than we have recently and with more accuracy. keep losing the ball in our own half through errors and it will be a sad day

Whilst I sympathise, if his head isn't in the right place then he should take some time off. If he has come back to play he has to put a shift in. There is losing form/confidence, and then there is absolute minimal work rate, which he has been guilty of in his last few games.

Townsend nor Lamela deserve a start. Soldado is an absolute disaster. Fuck the lot of them. I'm playing.

This.
