If only Townsend could replicate the form he shows for England on a weekly basis for us.

Unfortunately that require all of adding significantly more pace, abandoning the high line, as well as abandoning the double pivot... none of which we could reasonable expect Poch to do at any point.

I was there for the home game v Swansea and the counter attack goal he scored was superb.. even though he gave all of us a heart attack when shuffling theball from left to right..

his talent is obvious given he is spurs through and through, i wish we would try our best to find somewhere he can turn into a professional and then come back..

I don't disagree but I really dislike the tone by SCers when it comes to a player who is one of our own, tries hard every time he pulls on the shirt and doesn't lack skill. He may not fit our system and so should move on but he deserves more respect and affection than he gets on here.
I completely understand, and I imagine it's incredibly hard for him to leave, as well. But, it's all for the best of the club in the end, and the best for Andros. If he stays, his career will simply stagnate. We can hope the likes of Pritchard, Winks, etc can step up and carry on representing us all the while fitting the profile and playstyle of the club better.

Townsend - potentially a star at a mid table team when he's the biggest threat. Never an intelligent enough player to play in a system as a team player. Poch's philosophy is about the team not individuals. If Andros doesn't leave for 10 mill now it'll be half that in a year or two. Nice guy just not a top player, never will be.

Mate, the current squad isn't good enough. You can't honestly think after watching last season that our problems will be solved with Pritchard, one new striker and Wimmer.
and Alli, Carroll and Fredericks. They won't solve our problems, but they will improve our squad.

Finally some fresh ITK about outgoings. I've read very little ITK about players we could/will want to sell and specific buyers. Which reminds me, was Kaboul to Watford ever mentioned by any ITK?

No problem letting Townsend go. He is a midtable talent. Had a nice little run of a form the start of the year after we sold Bale, but even then was hurting the team with his selfishness as would take 10 shots from distance and would be lucky to hit the target once.

The ITK today

Very excited to hear about the heads turned about Yedlin in our mini tour. Very much feel he is a player with incredible physical ability that has never had the proper coaching that fostered more than just utilizing his speed. I think Poch 'n co could do wonders for his mental and technical play, he's always just kind of seemed like a lost puppy to me who needs someone to point him the way home.
Worry is the other bit - that he didn't train well enough. It is clear MP values those who put in 100% all the time so he needs to sort it out by the sounds of it.

I don't interpret that statement as necessarily meaning he didn't put in the effort, but rather that he just didn't play well. He could be working his nuts off, and this is something Friedel mentioned commentating on a US game back in March, but that he's just not shown he's ready yet (which is a stance also reflected in ITK in the last few weeks).

I hope the latest ITK involving Townsend is true and that its for a sale, not a loan.

It'll likely mean a new player coming in to fill the void left by his absence and I can't see this new player being worse. Townsend and Lennon sold could land us a nice player.

I would be pleased if we made the sale and turned around to use that cash to buy Roberts from Fulham, as long as we bought a pacier option to play on the left.

All have been told they have no future with us going forward(this happened back in Feb/March). Still it's not a case that they are the ones that will go, and all the rest will stay. I doubt very much we will shift all of them, and there are plenty that travelled that could still be sold should we get the right offers for them. We do not have to sell in order to buy.

Would also add I have asked about Ayew, but was told nothing has changed on that front. We looked at him a while back and that is as far is it went.

yep, but would still need to add a left and right winger in, not just one

A natural right winger is more important than a left winger at the moment as we're void of pace on the right handside (with Walker shot - injuries/horrendous form). Also, bringing in a quality energetic DM will hopefully provide cover for Rose should be opt to shuffle Eriksen to the left.
