Fogonthe?Southampton are already close to signing the Clyne replacement.

Two quick things ftom ITK
Firstly, I think the air of caution surrounding Yedlin is based solely on his nationality. There's an underbelly of snobbery to suggest he wont improve us. Ive just seen a US team BEAT Holland and world champions Germany in their own back yard. They looked excellent, and they are excited about Yedlin. I think he will play a substantial role this season.
Secondly Im optimistic because we seemingly dont want Cabaye. That says to me that we EXPECT to sign Scneidrlin, kramer, bender or Imbula.
Id be happy with that
Not quite enough though it would seem.DeAndre must really like competition.
I watched the Germany game and Yedlin had a decent game, got forward and set up a couple of great chances whilst not looking out of depth defensively either.
He's young, he's a bit green, he's not the most intelligent footballer, but as FB's go, especially the ones we've been playing in the last couple of years (Walker, Naughton, Chriches and Dier) I really don't see why there is this reluctance to give him games. I don't know what he does in training but I've watched him play for the US in the WC and against Germany, for Seattle twice, for our U21's and a couple of friendly games and I haven't seen him look disastrous once, unlike all the aforementioned.
I don't think he's going to be as good as KWP, who has all the attributes IMO to be a great FB, but I really don't get why he seems to be deemed untrustworthy.
Do you mean the underbelly of snobbery is coming from within the club or the fans ?

Plus he's moved house recently - in top 3 of life stressors! Oh, and he's got 2 dogs to settle too... Quite an affable chap tho according to my 7 & 8 year old nephews - autographs, pics etc..In regards to the Trippier deal, I have spoken to somebody who is close to Kyle Walkers family. Probably not too much of a big deal, but they blame Spurs for his long absence.
By all accounts our medical team kept pushing on treatment and rehab on one injury, refusing to delve any deeper. Consequently when that didnt work, they then discovered an injury which could have been repaired months previously.
I wonder how much of a strain that has put on him and us.

I think football in general has been slow to accept that the US is producing some excellent footballers
Maybe this is their golden generation and opinions may change

Not sure about KWP but what about Y.P.L ( young pyo Lee) surely this sort of full back should be the bench mark
I don't have a problem with either Wimmer or Trippier specifically but I do hope we go out and buy some genuine first teamers. They both remind me of the type of players we brought last summer, more players that flesh out the squad but do not really improve us. I would much prefer 2 quality signings than 6/7 of that type. Unfortunately, I'm not sure Levy sees it the same way as it is far riskier going all out for the marquee signings.
I'd like to think we may have put the "feelers" out to see if Kramer is open to a move, that may be why he's a potential signing. Wouldn't want a moysey situation would we?!I think we don't want Cabaye because he doesn't fit, so he's 28-29? I personally don't mind that, I think experience is important but I get the impression Poch is very focused on bringing in young players with potential and that's something that Levy enjoys too. I can't see us signing Kramer, not even a hope from me. Just feel champions league will keep it at Bayer and if not then another champions league team will sign him. As for Bender, maybe, but if we did then would that be a good thing? Isn't he very injury prone and would effectively be Sandro? A good player but constantly crocked and can't always be relied on as a result. As for Imbula, I think it's down to us. I think he's ours if we want him but we're weighing up other options first. Maybe the above options, and if that's the case then I think we'll end up with Imbula. Not seen him play so can't say if I'm happy with that or not but I do feel he ticks the boxes for a young, promising (so I hear) player that Levy and Poch would like to see here

We're in June, mate. The non-first-team transfers are bound to take place more quickly as well.its already looking the same as last summer, signings back ups rather then first team, hopefully this changes.
People love to slate walker but when hea good hes very good! Needs to work on his football brain and concentration but has alot of assets to be a top FB. Im not saying he will be but maybe with Trippier for competition he'll progress!!I'd be overjoyed if we kept Yedlin, gained Trippier and sold Walker. We'd make money and be no worse off.
Lets be real, we could produce the next Messi and people still wouldnt accept American footballers.I think football in general has been slow to accept that the US is producing some excellent footballers
