Not stopping Liverpool or the rest of the big clubs doing business, to have a settled team before the start of the season.

Sorry, I must have missed the point where all those clubs always did their business in June. I think you'll find all of those clubs will do business in August. The same as every bloody year and every bloody club.

That is just one position though, I assume we will be making additions to our forward line unless we are totally insane. What are we waiting for there ? It seems like we were played by Martial's team but we need to move on.

True we really do need to add up front.
I don't know what's going on any more than anybody outside the club.
I hope they have things in hand and we will see the required additions before the end of the window.
Preferably before the season starts.

But as I said, I can't do anything about it and don't feel I should cause myself distress worrying about it.
I have far more important things to worry about.

When I saw that braying donkey I was guessing it was a video cryptic and for the first time guessed correctly as Jonjon Shelvey.

So glad I missed the punfest!

Trix's boat trip was incredibly disappointing this year. What was it - one piece of info which clarified the Schneidrlien situation a little more? Or did I miss a bigger round-up as has been the case previously?

Looked at another way it's 6 weeks until our first match. So while the window may last until the end of August I think we would like to have signings in before we've played 4 or 5 games. I don't think it is hysterical to want us to get players in early so they have a pre-season to settle with their team mates.
Not to mention primary targets - important to move fast & decisively on those which means early business. Ideally.

Itk info is purely voluntary and is appreaciated so if we start to shake people down for it we may lose our daily snippets.

I'm far more bothered about who we sign than when we sign them.

Of course there's a very good chance we'll end up making uninspiring signings well after the season is under way, but I'm so conditioned to it I don't really expect anything else.

Don't get your hopes up. It's far easier that way.

Liverpool did this last season and we finished above them. United have signed Depay, City, Arsenal, Chelsea are yet to confirm a signing, what business are you so worried about?
They ain't signing shit payers this season though.

A shame you didn't pick up on the sarcasm in my initial post. Trix himself even big's up the fishing trip in light hearted fashion. I thought the place to ask if I missed something was in the ITK thread. I'll steer clear from commenting now as I don't want to clog it up anymore

Do people on here not appreciate the benefits of being dynamic and decisive with your targets? Do you not see value in getting said players into and gelling with their teammates and the manager and staff as early possible?

Whether teams do some additional business late or not is not the point really a lot of the top clubs appear to be pretty decisive when they set sights on someone.

On the surface at least, for our club transfers always seems like pulling teeth for all parties yet when people on here point that out it they get jumped on for saying what seems to me to be common sense observations.

Mate, in an ideal world all transfers would be done in the first two weeks but that's not how it works. None have the other big teams have moved big yet except Liverpool and their recruitment strategy is as scatter-gun as ours has been in the last few years.
