Especially when you consider that Maradonna almost single handedly won Argentina world cups and made Napoli great. As good as Messi is he hasn't achieved that, let's face it Barca would still be immense without him.

And played in a much more physical era with far less protection of flair players and also played deeper than Messi. Maradona is my favourite player of all time.

Also, let's not forget that Maradona also has played in a Spurs shirt and said that Spurs would have been the only English club that he would have played for.

Ibrahimovic and Messi.

This place is never fails to surprise me

To be fair, it started off as a question of "who is better that costs less than £20m?" (Ibra) rather than "who should we try and sign next?".

Complete humour failure and skim reading posts is the prevailing issue.

A good question would be this: Are we too wrapped up in the Berahino "transfer" now to consider the possibility of better, less expensive options?

For a start, I doubt that he'd expect wages like that at his next club, he's 34 at the end of the transfer window. Milan have been linked, and there's no way they could afford to pay him that.

The point being made was that £15m not spent on the transfer could subsidise wages.
This is Zlatan Ibrahimovic we are talking about. Arguably the world most arrogant footballer. If you think he would go from a reported £225k a week to under £100k you must be banking on Levy naming the new stadium "Dare to Zlatan arena."

I don't quite know what you're disagreeing/arguing about there. How many season do you think the (completely hypothetical and tongue-in-cheek) £15m was spread across?

Only the world's?!

From his most recent autobiography;

"Zlatan", says the ponytailed Swede with no hint of irony - at a party held in his honour on the side of an active volcano, hosted by oompah looompahs - "is the best in the Universe"

I considered this for a second when he said recently he might spring a surprise. But then at that moment I realised I was being ridiculous.

He also wrote a letter as well saying how much he would of loved to join but unfortunately....actually was that Maradona?? or Rivaldo or Papan or Zidane or Morientes..God knows but can we atleast get Zlatan to send us a Letter?

I miss those letters...they give me so much warmth when we end up with Frazier sodding Campbell!

I would literally do back flips down the street if we got Zlatan, only problem would be his £250k p/w wages, other than that I'M sure we'll be fine ;)

Imagine if this was a thread on RAWK, people in here would be losing it

I'm not sure what the negativity is centred around?

a) Because some wouldn't want him; or
b) Because some just don't think it'd happen.

Free transfer for a year why not? It's a lot of wages but we could manage it. We'd probably get a lot of that back through merchandise.

Harry could actually have whole games off in the pl and would learn a thing or two i'm sure. As would a lot of our younger players.

Not going to happen probably, the us or asia steal the Edgar davids's these days.

If we're going for ridiculous daily mail click bait stories now I'd like to mention that I heard we'd be signing a new 6 feet 10 inch freak of a striker soon but we'll be putting him in accommodation paid for by the taxpayer and apparently Daniel Levy has also been scouting for a new winger in the migrant camp at Calais after hearing it was full of people who were good at crossing.

It wouldn't happen because the club wouldn't want to, rather than it being out of the realms of possibility.

We'd rather throw a pair of boots at Kevin Phillips :ROFLMAO:

Also 5-10 clubs, better than us, who can offer him double the money would also be in for him.

Think you misunderstood the point of the post. It is a hypothetical to see what fans think. It's not that serious. At least not meant to be on @yankspurs account.
