I suspect Madrid might be interested if Benzema does leave. Since we're being unusually optimistic, maybe we could come to some sort of arrangement with them? "Look, give us Illarramendi and we won't get in your way for Zlatan."

HYPOTHETICALLY speaking we could sign Messi, if HYPOTHETICALLY we have him for a season therefore we only pay £18.2m which is one years wage for him but we can afford that as HYPOTHETICALLY Barca would allow us to take him on loan.

all HYPOTHETICAL of course

Messi is a bit younger and psg/city would be after him. Really doubt that we could get him.

Isn't he paying 75% tax in france though?

€288k is £202k

So he actually gets £50k a week after tax. Which would be around £90k a week for us before tax.

Easy.

Zlatan doesn't pay 75% in taxes, PSG does that for him in some way.

Trying to take this joke of a thread seriously, I honestly don't think Zlatan would be a good idea.
Pochettino is trying to put together a balances team. Like the rise to fame of Norway's national team in the 90s.
No Zlatan's, only team effort. Now, I'm not suggesting Zlatan is not a team player.
But it would completely undermine the entire approach to and basis for the squad we see this summer.

Oh but we can realistically get Zlatlan though, not to worry :ROFLMAO:

34. Psg allegedly want him gone. How many teams can match his wages that want another striker or have space in their squad? He and lvg seem to hate each other. Why not?

I doubt he would come and was only making a joke. This thread wasn't about whether he would come or not, it was a simple would you have him? People got their knickers in a twist and just kept repeating that he wouldn't come. Which wasn't the point. This is not in transfer rumours thread for a reason.

yep, zlatan does not score enough to justify not pressing with the team :oops:

fun idea to think he'd play for Spurs, but it ain't gonna happen,... not likely at minimum

I am not trying to be negative, but I am starting to get real George Graham feeling about Pochettino and his approach/tactics/man management style lately,... hoping this deja vu is wrong and Poch turns out to be wonderful

Pochettino doesn't ritualistically substitute all creativity after an hour of every game. Nor is he gradually trying to drive all creativity out of the club.

Even if he doesn't sign for us (I know, its not thinkable) I would love to see him in the Prem for a season.

i think it could happen, but it's 99.9% unlikely based on his attitude, poch's requirements and Dan not splashing on 34 year old loanees.

But in a year where we are trying to make a mark, signing him would do that. High profile players like him would boost exposure & merchandising. So while I think it's a no goer, I am not adverse to the discussion.

For other <£20M options, both Panzini & Lisandro Lopez are taken. As is Cassano.

Mirko Vucinic or Dave (Iaquinta)from Juve, Destro from Roma but looks to be going to Bolongna, Alberto Gilardino. - and that's only from 4 teams in Serie A

Lacazette would probably cost more than £30m and be wanted by Chelsea, Arsenal, United, Madrid, PSG.

Even Liverpool would try and buy him, they are a bit short on strikers.

a lot as he's already started 4 games for them so seems highly unlikely they'd even consider a a <£20M offer

We got lloris off them on transfer deadline. I dunno. Not really up on my european football these days.

Read the thread again. No-one thinks he is going to join us.

I've already ordered my three tops for the season. Home with Ibrahimovic, Away with Illarramendi and Third kit with Berahino.

Levy has recouped enough there in shirt letters to cover a weeks wages for Ibra.
