Saving for the stadium we've been told wouldn't impact on our spending? Levy's obsessive brinkmanship? Lack of faith in managers because of a high turnover of managers/players? Spreading cash around on numerous average players instead of one or two that would make a difference? Lewis turning the screw on our spending? Levy being reluctant to buy another Bentley/Lamela/Soldado?

Lots of hypothetical reasons. If the stadium really isn't meant to impact on transfer spending, what's happened to the millions received in TV cash?

Why do you think the stadium doesn't impact spending? Have we heard that? I certainly would not believe that anyway.

The underlying theme from those dissenting is that Levy's outcomes are not aligned to Spurs', which annoys me because it can't be accurate.

And whether you think he's here for the long haul or whether he's just about maximising his own return if he sells up (Levy/Lewis/Enic being interchangeable for ease of my post) then I don't see how not spending money helps either strategy. It's just not good business and that's something we know can't be right, right?

If Adebayor refused to commute to the midlands i don't see him going abroad, we are stuck with the ****, just hope we make his life a living hell and set so many traps for him he gets fined 2 weeks wages on a regular basis

You think this would make us more attractive to potential recruits or less?

Not particularly impressed with the update from Grey Fox, but I would like to think Levy isn't going to drop us in a Saha/Nelson situation again. Sitting behind a computer screen, tapping away at a keyboard and ranting won't change the outcome. Sit back, enjoy the ride and whine in 12 days time....

Can we all make a deal? I will create a special thread at the end of the window where you can all chastise my optimism and insult me to your heart's delight without recourse.

But only if we do not sign two more players before the deadline slams shut and on the basis that you give Levy and Mitchell and Baldini until the deadline has closed before producing the sort of comments that Grey Fox's info has spawned.

Deal?

Agree for Yes, Funny for No.

FOR CLARIFICATION: not another Nelson/Saha. Although that Newcastle game he was quality.

Ffs people nothing has changed has it? We're still looking to bring berahino in, we have other options if things don't work out. We knew the Germans would be tough, we're discussing illaramendi.

Grey fox has told us nothing we didn't know, the tone of his message is more negative than other itks and you lot throw a gussy fit! Man up !

So, just got in and checked the big foxy update!
Lots of interesting stuff, Berahino still a goer, although other options are also being considered.
The germans look unlikely, is this Bender and Kramer or Bender and Bender?
With regards to DM/CM we're looking elsewhere.
Illarramendi could still happen, ...perhaps,...maybe!

Anyone able to shed any light on who these OTHER Striker, DM/CM options could be? (other than Illarramendi).
Surely Hernandez?
How about a cheeky bid Ki Sung Yeung?
IMO Southampton will never sell Wanyama to us :(

Thoughts people!

It's not a matter of two more players. It's a matter of two more quality players. Would you be satisfied with another case of Nelson and Saha?

What if the 2 players are Nelsen and Saha?

It would make us attractive to professionals, because they know we will pull together as a team and have no time for anyone here to 'swing the lead'

Seth Johnson I think. Expecting about £30k,He offered him £60k when he nearly fell over Ridsdale said "£80k and not a penny more".
I think that's a great story that we've all told at one time or another. I suspect that it's an urban myth, though.

if wba are unwilling to come down (they may be willing we don't know) and we refuse to pay the 25m we should move on, if we go into the season with 1 recognized striker we're going to struggle

'If' is the key word, and for every if we can all think a 100 others, which means there's no point to ifs. I say we wait until they become 'dids' and 'dones' and then we can moan or celebrate to our heart's content.

What you fail to understand is that 11pm to 11.59pm (add on an extra 30min due to broken facsimile machines / messenger pigeons being mistaken for clay pigeons etc.) is LEVYTIME. Not the whole day. Just that golden hour(and add on mins). And there's no adjusting this for CET/GMT/UTC etc. It is non-flexible.

Not to panick everyone connected with the club, the area and the nation as a whole, but WTF are we going to do between 5-6pm on deadline day? Levy will still be shining his 50 inch manhood, preparing to smack down other chairpersons with it.

We're doomed / I've got a bad feeling about this (delete as applicable for C3P0 / Human preference).

EDIT: Just in case anyone thought my post above was an attempt at sarcasm or humour, it is not. I am deadly serious. We are all doomed. To put it into context, I've included the original post (mil1lion) that I assumed was a joke and the quite serious reply (Scarecrow) that I then replied to. I've also removed the pink as it hurt my eyes too.

Which just goes to show...

Because all other players are not at all self centred or greedy or temperamental or egotistical?
Treating contracted players the way you've suggested would be hugely detrimental to signing new ones.
The 'all for one, one for all' everyone's happy even if they're not playing because we are such grounded old chaps squad you crave is the stuff of comics
