Am i the only one on here that thinks Lamela has had more than enough chances.... he is nowhere near suited to this league

Agree, but he's still better than Townsend and I'd hope we'd actually have someone else lined up if we are to sell or send him on loan.

He reminds me of Sanchez.

That goal was sensational. You can argue Verts should have stopped it but he earned that inch of space earlier in the game when he went inside and hit the post with his right foot. Top drawer inverted forward play.

That said if he came here he'd probably start turning back and playing 5-yards passes inside to the CM most of the time.

I'm a bit worried about this. Not just because I like Lamela, but mostly because we've sold a lot of players already. Is there enough time to replace him while we're also trying to get the other deals in place? The squad is starting to look thin if he goes too.

We have loads of players that can play his position. Even more if we get berahino.

Its already looking thin imo. Im sure the club know what they're doing though if he does leave.

Lamela's like a really fit girl whose also stupid. You want it to work, but in the end the idiocy kills it. I'd personally be happy to see him gone if it means a shiny new WF

Think with Soldado gone, the writing was on the wall for Lamela. They seemed close, reckon Lamelas heart is no longer in Spurs and a return to Italy is his wish.

Lamela linked on loan to Inter, Pritchard linked on loan to Norwich. JJ saying potentially 3 in now makes it look like a winger is truly on the agenda.

Mahrez or Yarmolenko would be great but difficult to do. Moses I'd be unsure of but likely and option. Bolasie massively overpriced. Townsend probably staying. Chadli may be able to shift over too.

I think a loan for Lamela could be good for both parties. He finds his form again, we benefit next year in a better or more valuable player. As for Pritch I really want him to break through this year but a solid PL loan could be too good for us to turn down.

Edit: JJ seemingly dismissing most of those wingers. I'm probably having a 'mare. Would need some kind of replacement for Lamela though IMHO.

I always felt that Lamela would be best in the role behind the striker but that position is occupied by Eriksen. We also have Carrol or Dele Ali to cover in cup games and Dembele who I'm hoping will finally fulfil his potential as an attacking force. I guess it's most likely due to Townsend staying that Lamela could be let go. Not to mention Yedlin (if he stays) who is much better suited on the wing than at full back. In fact I would be happy if we sell Lamela to fund a 2nd striker in addition to Berahino. I think we have enough supporting attackers to create chances but not enough finishers.

Twitter user: hi mate, if Lamela is go go to Inter then do you reckon we'll go in for Yarmolenko? We should be all over that

JJ: nah

Twitter user: Shame really. Oh well. Any change on the Bolasie stuff JJ? Not that I want him..

JJ: No

Twitter user: Thank god. And thanks for the reply. I know you hate Q&A... Presume if Lamela does go Inter, someone would replace?

JJ: possibly

Because some sad individual or another will ask anything. Anything that gets a response. It makes them feel 'special'. As if the wardens and curfew wasn't enough.

Little bit unfair A&C, if they didn't ask him there would be less ITK in here for us to discuss, and therefore more stressful modding.

You are probably right for the most part however.

Not sure on that one. We haven't exactly created a boatload of chances so far this season, and whilst N'Jie will hopefully provide some help in that area I think there's significant work to be done on the creativity side.

Doesn't preclude a striker though.

Lamela is a hard one. Extremely talented but seems he's feeling the pressure and looks devoid of confidence - the malnourished looks don't help - wish he'd put some weight on then at least I could look at him without feeling sick for him. I'd only sell for a great replacement such as Yarmolenko, if that's not on then why bother!

Mahrez would be a good option. We are crying out for someone to pick up the ball and drive at defenders. It would benefit the team and be more exciting to watch. I'm getting to the stage where I want Andros starting every week now. For all his limitations, at least it's more exciting. We are too conservative at present. That's not Spurs.
