I get the whole if's buts and maybe's talk but the whole point is we should really have a backup plan. Leaving ourselves without one is poor planning in my opinion.

Who knows, Chadli might surprise us like Dier has in DM and become a good back up striker but then again him and Son may not and if Kane gets injured.....well let's not even think about that.

Poor old Jim is going to look very silly on SSN tonight as absolutely nothing happens.

I think it may be time for the yellow tie to be retired.

Things are getting more rabid by the moment. Lovely. Different people making the same points, I think there's about six seperate jousts going on all saying the same things. This is more like it!

Everyone would like a striker but this re-writing of Saturdays match to fit your agenda has to stop - Kane didn't play because we had no options - both Chadli and Son have could have easily as started and they have in other cup matches. He played because Poch felt he was fit enough and maybe he actually wanted to play. Messi plays pretty much every match for Barcelona, not because they don't have sufficient back-up but because he loves playing football.
This is a good point that no one ever mentions. He's practically played the same games as Messi, Neymar and Suarez this season and I doubt those players are gonna get rested now in the Champs League/La Liga etc. Why is Kane likely to get burnout. Barcelona have the option to rotate and choose not to. Nothing to say that even with a decent back up we woulnd't just play Kane as he's better/gives us the best chance of winning.

If at any point Kane needs resting he will be. If Poch was worried about accumulation of games he would be rested. We are undefeated during the four games Kane has been rested and have a goal difference of +5 from those games. This back-up striker 'problem' is so over dramatic.

Who were they against?

Fucking hell I've just clicked on to the BBC live deadline day updates and they actually have a 'Football Manager expert' offering his insights into whether deals are good or not.

I suppose they are just trying to cater for the Millseys of this world but bloody hell that is embarrassing.

Messi is Messi and he's not the hardest worker in the team - no where near the workrate of a Kane.

Sky are listing players footy manager stats. Cringeworthy.

You could have son Chadli and Kane starting games together very soon. Who then do you play in FA cup an Europa? Who do you bring on to get a goal late in a game? By playing all 3 you have a much greater chance of an injury to one of them. It's like saying Deeney is back up to Igahlo at Watford. But he isn't because both play at the same time.
No it's not, because if Ighalo gets injured they'd have to play 1 up top. They'd lose a striker. Whereas we only play 1 up top, so our RW or LW would go up top, and we'd bring on, say Lamela. Keep the shape. That actually makes sense as a replacement. Bringing on Amartey as a winger when Ighalo gets injured, and going from 442 to 451 with Deeney as the lone striker, isn't in any way the same.
