While I do think O.Dembele to Dortmund is likely, it isn't like the Wimmer transfer at all. Wimmer and his club spoke openly about him joining the club before it was announced. This isn't (yet, at least) the case with Dembele.
That's the difference for me. The Wimmer transfer was all over the local media outlets in Köln with close ties to the club, whereas the Dembele rumours seem to be coming from Kicker. Not comparable IMO.

Okay i have to defend jair on this one . People here were talking the same way about Wimmer last season and no one said a word. Also, lets be real here, if this was us instead of Dortmund, no one would say a word and would probably shower jair with positive ratings for once.

Thank you. Almost every reliable newspaper is saying he has signed for Dortmund, there has been a lot of smoke you don't have to be ITK to know he will sign with them soon.

He's got Timmeh's old job - technical co-ordinator. He oversees the transition between academy and first team squad, and keeps an eye on the players out on loan.
Really? I'm so pleased to hear he didn't leave last summer. I love the guy!

Hmm. I must have been living in some parallel universe where Clinton was barely playing and always injured.
I've always wondered where footballers arriving at Spurs come from.
It's impossible that they ever have kicked one ball before they are even close to White Hart Lane. So player's past life is a true unknown mystery to us and we cannot have any opinions based on that.

It's like when your boss comes over out of nowhere and says "Matt, have you got a minute...let's go to the meeting room". You think you're getting the sack but he just wants to know where you get your shirts from.

Being called Matt and being in demand most of the day every day this sent a shiver up my spine.

On the stadium, whatever needs to be done. We can't miss the completion deadline. Kinell, even getting to the stage of having a smaller ground than Chelsea and West Ham is a betrayal. This can be stomached only briefly. Certainly not for three fkin years.

.

We won't have a smaller stadium than West ham. It's not theirs.

With Clinton - Poch is all about how you train. He has famously said when a player signs with a team, he signs to train not to play. So, if Clinton is underwhelming - it is on the training pitch, and perhaps how he approached his rehab - all things we are not privy to.

I hope he comes good, but i trust in the coaching staff to make that determination based on how he is performing in training.

From Hertyid on COYS:
In no particular order....

Paxton will be coming down mid-season. That's why ST renewals not happened yet. Announcement coming in the next fortnight.

Wembley is almost done. They can host all our games in 17/18 so long as they shut top tier and have max capacity 50k.

Every club is going through the West Ham deal with their lawyers but unlikely anything comes of it.

Nike deal is done.

Ousmane Dembele - we think we are front of the queue. I know very little about him. I actually thought my guy was talking about Moussa 2 for the first 30 seconds.

Less boxes in the new WHL, all the emphasis is on corporate areas. Aka Club Level. We sent our commercial dept to the Allianz for a fact finding mission and we are using this as a base for a lot of the new stadium ideas.

Son and Wimmer are best mates. Son won an Asian footballer of the year award this year and took Wimmer as his date.

Ledley King is an absolute legend. So is Ossie. But number one Spurs legend is Steffen Freund.

There is no way anyone at Spurs leaves this summer, unless Poch wants them gone.

The club have faith in Son, but are unsure on Clinton.

Is it just me that thinks this is massive news? They will pay far more than Under Armour.

He has signed for Dortmund so I don't understand what you're trying to debate here.....

I'm not saying you are wrong, but other media outlets have refuted it
https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/no-dortmund-deal-dembele-140000846.html

On Wednesday, Sport Bild reported Dortmund had met a buyout clause to secure the services of Dembele - also a reported target for Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona, among others.
But his representative Badou Sambague moved to dismiss suggestions that a switch to the Bundesliga is settled and claimed negotiations were yet to take place.
"I want to refute the information published in Bild this morning," Sambague told Goal.
"There is no agreement with Borussia Dortmund, not even negotiations or discussions."

Kicker who I consider to be the goto for any Bundeliga news reported he had agreed terms with Dortmund. Although they didn't say the clubs had agreed a price.

Thanks for the clarification.

Not unknown for player agents to say what their client would accept, but obviously not a completed deal if the clubs haven't agreed terms.

The article I posted had quotes from Dembele's agent (assuming he is) dismissing it though : perhaps the agent (and/or player) didn't want to admit the Dortmund talks as in theory its against6 the rules

Has anyone on COYS queried what 'Nike deal is done' actually means.

Does it mean that Nike are replacing UnderArmour as shirt sponsors, that a naming rigthts deal has been agreed (probably in principle, probably too early for it to be actually signed)...........ie what deal has actually been done ? And even for what $/£'s

Daily Mail running a story that the Nike deal is a £25m pa shirt deal which will take over from the UnderArmour shirt deal (worth £10m pa) which has another year to run.

They also say Spurs are seeking a £25m pa stadium naming Rights deal.

With regards to Clinton, i think the injury might be a bit of a blessing in disguise for him. No more trying to knock him into premier league shape by throwing him into european matches and ten minutes here and there and putting pressure on. He is obviously really keen, but i wonder if the attitude toward him is one designed to gee him up, to try that bit harder when he's fully fit, and now he's got an entire off season to work with our staff, get fit, blend with the team and fall into step. I have confidence in our coaches after seeing what they've achieved with our youth coming through, i also think that they must see enough potential in him to keep him on, else i get the feeling the new way things are being run, he'd be out the door before we wasted a penny more on him.

The news about the stadium is great, but as others have said, it will be strange, that first match with it cordoned off, then watching it slowly come down over the weeks. Will be kinda sad.

Well Clinton hasn't fucking played hardly any games so the jury may be out but to say "the club are unsure" is stretching the story a wee bit me thinks. Had the players in that quote been reversed i would have believed it more.
