Again i get the feeling that Levy know the player prefer us, and use that to lowball the selling club as much as possible. It's a shame cause the player is eager to join our pre season, but seems he have to wait for Levy to do his usual shenanigans when he have some kind of leverage.

Wish we could just pay up to get Janssen in for our pre season, especially if that's the player Poch prefer.

Much as I like Levy and what he has done for the club I also think he can be the master of false economy. Haggling over relatively small amounts (in football terms) could really cost us dear, especially now that so many of our EPL rivals have cash to burn. I hope we get Janssen signed up before another club with a less combative negotiating stance step in and put us back to square one yet again.

I'm just trying to make a point, if a spurs player did this imagine the crucifixion
not if we showed our hand and put the the player up for sale publicly.. this scenario is just entirely different from one where Poch has no intention of selling and he puts up a fuss..

I'm hopeful that Janssen not appearing for AZ in their friendly yesterday, is because the transfer is moving forwards.

As for the player and club's stances, it's an odd situation given that AZ so publicly allowed him to travel to Spurs to discuss things and Tory the training facility. It's obvious their intention was to sell, and you'd assume we must've been aware of the fee and given intent we'd be there or thereabouts in order for them to agree to let him visit. Almost seems as if other transfer fees have made then adjust their asking price afterwards. Hence Janssen's frustration.

Has Jansen become a better player because right now he's our only target and only chance to
Get a half decent player in? We do need a striker to rival Kane in 6 weeks time. Not a year or two. If we can get a goal scorer either side of Kane that will help,

I see Janssen as a potentially terrific understudy to Kane, and something that hasn't really been mentioned is the fact he is left footed. Since Townsend left, Lamela has been our only offensive player who is naturally left footed. This is definitely something that seriously needs addressing the summer.

I cannot see Levy passing up the opportunity of also signing Berahino from the bargain bin. For somewhere between £7m - £11m, I can see it too good an opportunity for him to turn down. If Poch is playing it cool with regards to interest in him, and still wants him, I think he'd give us another good option and would be seen more of a Kane partner rather than a Kane understudy. He also already has PL experience under his belt, but if Poch says no, someone needs to keep a watchful eye on Levy come deadline day!

But for, say £25m, 2 young strikers would seem pretty reasonable in the current market. You couldn't get 1 Batshuayi for that!

Why would Berahino come to be 7th/8th choice forward?

6th choice CF behind Kane, Janssen, Son, Njie, Chadli; 6th choice WF behind Lamela, Erikson, Son, Njie and Chadli

Every post from you is moaning about something or being negative.

He wouldn't. He would be second choice to Kane, and can play off the left with him too. Would cost 15
Mill plus though, but I would like him

Stoke are in talks with West Brom for him for £5m

And he's not as good a CF as Janssen, or as good a LWF as Eriksen, Son or Chadli

It's in the press everywhere that they are in talks with him for 16 million. How do you know he's not as good as Jansen? Watch AZ and Dutch football a lot?

I don't see how N'Jie or Chadli would merit starting ahead of Berahino in a CF position, or even WF. He's got more goals than they have in the league.

Good point about the lf factor, good noises coming out of paris which is encouraging...

but i think it was trix who said bera burnt his bridges to us not just effectively with wba by acting up after the window closed last summer. Plus, if peace is still there can you see him letting levy have the last laugh, however much danny would love to sign him, park him on a four year deal then sell him to stoke for double bubble next summer?
