I don't know what's worse, mentioning Harry Hotspur, or actually putting it in the ITK thread.
Even stevens. Its like saying there's an article in the daily mail and there's a guy in the 14th comment down saying............Or even quoting 606 back in the day.

This isn't done.

Don't get this obsession with paying big fees and being so negative about someone who hasn't cost circa £25m. Do we forget dier Ali, vardy and marahez (sp). Just about every player that has ever played the game starts with a low value, someone picks them up, they do well and you have a high value player. Why not go like we have, low risk with the potential for high return in value and quality?

With Wijnaldum being mentioned as a potential part ex for Pritchard, I wouldn't be surprised if he's the player whom is seen as being able to play as a CM or AM. Then again it could be Coric as he's may be seen as you said - becoming another Modric.
id prefer coric, only as i think hell be amazing at some point

Are people really doing that? Most that I read simply are saying sooner or later it would be nice to buy an established star more with perhaps less risk. Like most of these posts on both sides it seems like people have to point out the extreme view rather than a consensus. Wanyama and Jansen are great add a mahrez to that or someone of that ilk and we could all be happy eh :)

No signing is a lesser risk than an alternative signing.

I agree but this doesn't really factor in the huge TV windfall everyone has received and is allowing clubs Crystal Palace to be bidding on guys like Batashuyi. The bar has been raised and whilst l like the way we are going aout our business and hopefully we have picked up a E30m player for E17m in Jansens and Wanyama is more than adequate cover for Dier, our business so far doesn't suggest we have picked up any of the top level match winners that I think we lack for a bargain price.

As such I think we will remain an effective, hard working side but I don't think we have changed the equation that led to us drawing so many games last year - unfortunately in the current market changing that dynamic will require spending £30-£40m on that kind of player

You don't necessarily have to drop a major fee and wage on one game changer. Nil nil at home to wba on 60, Janssen makes a two with Kane and... Well I'm hopeful assuming they're both fit we will pose the park the bus lot a few more questions.

The only issue for me remains the boards insistence that when we spend 30m it has to be on two players not one. Levy is just not game enough to back the judgement of his team. Son and Njie. Now Janssen and this Wannabe Sterling from Marseiile. It should have been Bats, end of. Anyway, now VJ is here he gets the backing.

Eh?

This is not the case. Injury record is clearly a huge factor. I like Sturridge for example but...

Then there's someone like Wanyama who's proven he can play to top six standard at epl tempo. Versus an eighteen year old Serbian who hasn't.

Levy seems to have a similar attitude to risk as you. He won't put 30m down on one player, who would significantly improve the first eleven, when he could buy two prospects for the same money. I say save the money we want to spend on this Marseille bloke, and put it towards buying a 30m player next summer.
