Had it not been for the massive dragging of heels our summer signings would have been a LOT more acceptable and sensible. Levy panicked when he got it wrong and realised what the consequences were going to be, think about it, how Levylike is it for him to make a last minute signing and STILL pay over the top? Its completely against type. He shat himself.

And Poch stated he wanted his summer dealings done early..........Things weren't right at chez lane

I still say that it wouldn't surprise me if we were looking for a new manager come the end of the season.

You've hinted at this a lot since the last day of the window. To me, it seems the failure to sign Batshuayi was the catalyst for everything that went wrong with summer recruitment. Marseille were willing to sell him for 28 million pounds. It seems clear we tried to use their difficult financial position to barter down the price. When we did that, we gave Chelsea a chance to come in and swoop for him after they realized that Lukaku and Morata were too expensive for them. This is something that is never mentioned here. Chelsea were not in for Batshuayi early on. He was a fall-back option and they only landed him because we dithered. It's obvious Poch wanted Batshuayi, as Bielsa went to bat for him, and he tended to fit the profile of the dynamic striker Poch likes better than Janssen.

Once Batshuayi got away, you likely had an annoyed Poch settling for less than what he wanted. Come the end of the window, Poch is looking at his squad and outside of Wanyama, sees no new additions that he trusts to cope with a brutal season with heightened expectations. Levy likely panics and acquiesces to pressure from Poch to sign Sissoko. Had we signed Batshuayi, I'm 100% certain Sissoko would be at Everton right now.

Our recruitment has been poor these last two summers, and I've warned people repeatedly that Paul Mitchell and the group of analysts the club brought in were not worthy of nearly universal adoration like they've done nothing but recruit gems everywhere they'd been.

People complaining about the atmosphere etc the team gave the crowd absolutely nothing to get excited about last night , nothing at all . Some fans did try to get the chants going but it was difficult, and as we know the German crowds are organised and consistent throughout the 90mins, they drowned out any chants from small sections of the spurs vocal support .

Highlight of my night was the pan nation steel band. Awesome .

It's because it's just horrible to watch football in. I've only ever been there in cup finals before so it's a bit different but I'm not really surprised the England team is so bad and playing there is partly responsible I'd say. It would be interesting to see if they'd improve playing at other grounds round the country. I'd imagine so.
I'd like to blame the grass for our passes going astray, but it looked more like some of our players had been smoking some.

The steel band was kept outside the ground, probably because we decided to ban our own fans from taking in drums. They sounded good, but I didn't stop to listen. That was a mistake.

Too deflated to post last night. A shambolic performance....have we been worked out?....press us high and we fall to pieces as we comically try to play the ball out from the back. Damaging to the team morale and the club's profile worldwide. Can you imagine tuning in from some other country to watch the mighty Spurs last night? Or if you're Isco settling down to watch with a view to possibly coming to sign for us? Lol.....no chance!

It's short sighted.

Like Levy is.

But hey. Maybe our NFL team will win the pennant or whatever those twats want.

Go Hulk Hogan!

So short sighted he saw that we need a bigger stadium (which is a long term plan) to compete.

Son is a weird player. Amazing for a month but in the last 3 games he's been about as bad as it's possible to be. Must be confidence I guess, a fragile character.

Or maybe its a folly to rest him on the bench when he was on form.

I don't want to hear anymore excuses about a Wembley curse, it's a football pitch for Christ sakes. We even have one specifically prepared to the exact dimensions etc at our training ground. The players shouldn't be allowed anymore excuses to hide behind, quite simply that performance wasn't anywhere near good enough whatever pitch it was on.

I know in my heart of hearts that the players won't be reading this but I want to say this - "All I've been hearing from you lot over the last few years is how you are all desperate for the chance play in Champions League, and when you eventually got there how you were relishing it, well frankly I've seen absolutely no evidence of it, actions always speak louder than words. You have been hugely backed by thousands and thousands of fans who have turned up, where the f*ck have you been ? Now get out there and show us you mean it, no if no buts, no more excuses, get the f*ck out there and grab six points from your last two games, you now have to do it the hard way, you got yourselves into this mess now you can bloody well get yourselves out of it, anything less and you can all f*ck off!!!"

"oh and whilst we're at it we are sick and tired of being baited and seen as laughing stock by the Gooners, Spammers and Chavs, were still smarting from all the shit we had to take from them after last seasons almighty f*ck up in conspiring to throw 2nd place away to the Gooners, and how fans from those three despicable teams aforementioned queued up in their thousands to take pot shots of piss taking at our expense, I can see it now, this axis of London football evil are absolutely chomping at the bit to have another go at it, one after the other, so get the f*ck out there and let your football do the talking, we demand to see a 100% improvement against those three teams one after the other, anything less than that in full blooded commitment applicantion and effort will not be acceptable, COYS, the challenge has been laid down now show us all that you are up for it"

Rant over......

exactly. theres only so much you can talk about a pitch before realising its just a pitch with grass. players and poch need to look at themselves

We are a strength and power team with little technique. When we face a team that can match our strength and power we lose.

We all saw MoPo's face looking like thunder and he has said he is embarrassed by the performance last night and I have to agree with him and hope he can sort the team out.

We are in a bad place right now and without insider knowledge we can't know exactly what's causing it other than the injuries to Harry and Toby and concern over the dips in form of players which have had an obvious effect on morale.

Even so, we still have a talented and fit squad and should not be suffering such a dilemma. MoPo must find a way to shape the team we have available into a workable formation. They were confused and floundering last night and that can't be allowed to happen again.

Can we strangle this particular chestnut now? While we are a strength and power team, we do not lack guile or technique. What we do lack is experience, but if you build a particular model of play other players need to fit in. We have lost major players in the heart of our machine, and the second string are not yet good enough.

It may be why Poch has assumed greater control of recruitment. He seems a very astute individual in terms of politics. He seems to have bided his time until his hand had got stronger.

If people don't get what Lamela brings to the team, his absence last night illustrated it. He is the pacemaker for the press, which explains why we often lose dominance when he is taken off or improve when he comes on.

I cant be bothered to post what I thought of the game as it has already probably been covered and I'm more than a little tired and hungover after not getting home until 2am BUT I will say this. If you cant get yourself up for a game in front of 85k people then you really shouldn't be a professional footballer.

Sissoko did a thing and no one knew what it was so everyone got upset at their hot dogs.

I'm thirsty.
