Did you hear Martin Keown last night? Talking about the Sutton players when tackling they should be going in hard 'because he's the foreigner that's come and taken my place'

Unbelievable, but it's par for the course for MOTD it seems
To be fair I don't think Keown was suggesting that that is what he believes, he was just saying that these lower league guys needed to fire themselves us with a sense of injustice. Play angry.

Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if he has already played his last game for us. Mental issues equating to "I want to go back to Italy"...
Poch said in a press conference a couple of weeks ago that Lamela told him on that day that he wanted to stay in England and play for Spurs.

If his hip hurts, no-one knows why, no-one can fix it, and it's stopping him from playing football, then we're more likely to be collecting cash from insurers than from a foreign club. Public statements are going to be very carefully judged when loss adjusters are a concern.

No I didn't but it's quite ironic considering that Keown's own career wouldn't have been half as successful if he didn't end up playing in a team full of foreigners...

This seems to be the Groundhog Day thread. Poch makes a comment about him nearly being back, two weeks later, no sign of Lamela, then we get another comment about him being almost ready and being in the "right frame of mind"

It's clear there is some sort of mental issue going on that they just can't solve. I can't see him playing again this season, and sadly that raises massive questions about his ongoing future.

If we could get our money back on him would you take it?

No. I want him playing for us and doing the important things he does for our team. We won't replace him for £30million imo.

He should be given the time he needs to get well. But if he really NEEDS to leave to be happy. Then he should.

Only if he is so mentally fucked he'll never play well for us again or if he really has some serious hip injury problems. If he gets back to at least last season's form then no.

think he is done for this season, not appeared in any training pics so clearly not back training yet and he hasn't played since Oct so don't see him playing again this season, maybe never again in a spurs shirt???

No fraking way

30 million gets you the likes of sissoko and zaha these days.

What's the combined price of gkn and janssen? Waste

There's a reason lamela and eriksen are the only Beatle survivors

We won't see him this season. Even if you wanted to sell him; who would buy him? He's been out for a season with a mystery injury

No idea, I can see him going back to Italy on a cut price deal which would be awful for us as under normal circumstances we'd get a lot of money for him. I think it's more then just an injury as I think Poch would be more straight with the fans if that were the case, it's probably some mental issues or something. Not meaning it in a harsh way but Lamela has always come across as pretty fragile and he has had some bad shit happen to him recently.
