Meh - the teams that Defoe plays in have to be so shaped in a way that helps him flourish, so that the team always becomes worse overall.What I'd pay for any Defoe in the last 15 minutes of a stalemate

He was a useful player around the time we were a pretty average team, but there's a reason he's never played for a side that's been near the top of the table, because he was never able to add more to his game than poaching and shifting and shooting around the edge of the box.Defoe did a good job for us for a long time, and is still banging them in in his mid 30s, so if he's a Mexican Defoe let's get him signed up.

Indeed. He's a good goal scorer, but a terrible striker. That's the Defoe paradox.and putting the ball in the back of the net.
