Been saying this for weeks but good luck trying to convince the fans who seem more impressed (see brainwashed) with us saving money compared to actually, you know, trying to win something and understanding that players don't give a shit about a football stadium.

Harry Kane is a rare example of a footballer and he is a spurs fan, stop expecting every player to show that loyalty, it won't happen and frankly, if we start selling players you better expect Kane to start looking elsewhere as well, as much as he loves spurs he will want to win things, I don't blame him.

We should never have sold Walker and especially not to a rival, we just look weak and it has sent a signal out to the players and the league that we can't be taken seriously, especially considering that we are, yet again, going into the season with zero signings or having made any attempts to strengthen our depth.

It's a joke, we sell our first team RB and our most senior player and don't even replace him before we start the season with a backup option or strengthen anywhere else, despite our manager practically begging for it at this point.

It's Levy, it's always been Levy and it always will be and if we fail to win anything with this talented side before they get sold and our manager inevitability leaves because of lack of backing then it will be one of the biggest failures this league has known, irrespective of the stadium or what Levy thinks is best for the club, we can't afford to let that happen.

So TLDR, Rose is right and some people need to wake up.

Daniel Levy didn't make us concede four goals against Chelsea in the cup semi final or give the worst performance of the season in our Europa League first leg tie against Genk.

It wouldn't surprise me if Rose asked for a pay rise privately already. If it has been refused, then it is unprofessional to make demands via the Sun.

Likewise, if it was REALLY about signing new players, Poch has confirmed yesterday that he wants 3 or 4. Again, concerns Rose could raise privately.

As always, the answer is £££££££££. Rose is happy to squeeze it from us, or a new club. His method of negotiation is unacceptable in my opinion.

Unacceptable is an opinion you're entitled to and i can't disagree. But its very effective. We all know Danny will now get a move and earn buckets more money on the back of this, within 2 years barring injury.

And that's how easy it will be for most our players and the club have put themselves in this situation. There's only one way to quell this storm and i don't see Levy changing. So this could be the start of the end of the best spurs team I've ever seen in 40 years. I'm gutted now but we knew in our hearts this was inevitable.

It would also be easy to blame DR, but he was treated like shit by the fans 3yrs ago. I remember being shocked by some asshole fans comments on here. And there's been lots of players in the same boat over the years. He'll remember that and use it to justify these actions even if it is really about money in the end.

Sorry but can't help but be really pissed off with these comments.

I don't actually blame him for thinking any of those things whatsoever, but he does not need to come out and tell the world all of these things. Such comments should have been kept internal.

Yeah but it's all a tactic. He wants out and wants to make his position untenable, or at least start the ball rolling in that direction.

Whoever has tapped him up as has advised to do this as well.

And the thing is this will cause disruption to us even if he doesn't go this summer. Our competitors were never going.to have us get good in an honest manner.

If could give this post 10 winners i would.

How so many could not see this as a consequence of selling Walker the BEST right back in rhe league is beyond me. Our players must all know it was a step backwards.... More importantly not signing a replacement immediately was stupid. Trippeir i like and may develop into a Walker type but we need quality in other areas too.

This is not a moan session it is the reality

What a dumb fuck! His agent must also be his hairstylist.
Agree, and disagree. On one hand, why shouldn't footballers use the media to promote their cause. Everybody else does it. On another hand, one must know what one is doing talking to the media. It's not only about sitting down with a journo and bearing all with no filter.

In fairness to wages he is right, compared to the market value he is under paid and if a good financial offer comes in for him we can't complain... However it does say a lot about contacts.

With all this money around football now I do feel Tottenham can offer better terms to our top players to keep them sweet.

Can't help feeling the smart way to avoid this would have been to get the incomings done early. Then noone's got anything to bitch about.

It didn't sound nearly as bad watching the report on SSN this morning. All he says is he would 'consider' a move away if a top club came calling. He thinks he should be earning more money and wants us to show more ambition in the window.

A couple of good signings could well see him sign an improved contract over the coming months.

My new favourite thing is being told by journalists how much they like and respect Danny Rose, and how he was right to say it and it's not at all disrespectful

If his position at the club is no longer tenable and his relationship with Pochettino has broken and he wants to move to United I hope we can somehow get Luke Shaw as part of a deal. It may be a downgrade in the short term, but it could prove to be a good move long term if Poch can get him back to the levels he was at when under him at Southampton.

IMO this will be his last season at the club. If he doesn't get flogged off this window that is.
I've had a feeling this would be the case all summer myself. The stuff he said before about big signings laid the foundations for me, as he's clearly expecting something that just isn't us.

Fascinating insight into the mind of a football fan, some who were complaining about Vertonghen and Dembele towing the corporate line and being media trained etc etc are now complaining that Danny has done a very honest interview.

He's not burnt any bridges and actually praises Levy saying he's done a brilliant job, with Pochettino being a world class manager. Yes he has a go at fans from a few years ago, tbh I remember the vitriol on here and it was pretty fucking bad.

After a restless night's sleep, in my eyes Danny has said what he feels, rightly or wrongly it's his personal take on things and certainly will open up the discussion at the club in regards to wages going forward.

If he's not sold this summer and I guess it's a big if currently, then Pochettino, who suffers no fools or prima-donnas has forgiven him or at the least got him motivated for the upcoming campaign.

I appreciate as fans it's hard not to get emotional about these things but if anything, Judas has taught us that players are mercenary and no-one is bigger than the club, we'll get over Danny doing a stupid interview, just like we're a bigger and better club since that Judas C*** fucked us over all those years ago

Exactly. Get players signed early, start talks with Rose on a new deal, none of this happens. Unfortunately Levy is at his absolute worst when Spurs are in a positron of strength and becomes very reactive rather than proactive.

I guess from his pov he's selling the club as soon as the stadium's finished so he doesnt really give a fuck.

Question for everyone, if the intention was indeed solely to force the club into selling him, why have such an in depth interview talking about everything from Pochettino, VDV, Wembley, prospective signings, Walker, the Chelsea game, etc...?

Why not just give a couple of quick quotes over the phone to get your plea out there?

He's gone from being one of my favourite players to one of my least favourite after this. One more full season and he can leave if we're not good enough for him.

3 days to go and he pulls this out of the bag. What a ****!
