People need to relax. There are 2 things happening right now that always happen:

1. Poch teams start the season slowly before gradually building momentum
2. Levy leaves it till deadline day to sort the transfers making us all nervous wrecks in the process

''Twas ever thus. Twill ever be.

I hope whoever comes in will leapfrog Eriksen. That guy seriously needs some completion for his place and a kick up the arse.

OK, Eriksen was great last season, but this season it's starting look like the opposition have done their homework, stifle him and you stop spurs. Yesterday Burnley used that tactic, but the rest of team were statuesque, the movement up top was beyond poor, so what is Eriksen supposed to do? It was a throwback performance to the AVB days.

I'm sorry, why is a slow start inevitable - we are already 5 points worse of than last year over the same set of fixtures. Chelsea won 30 of their 38 matches last season to win the league. So far we have failed to win two out of three.
Did you really think we'd be in with a chance of winning the league this year whilst playing at Wembley? It's going to be a tough season but we will get going and gain momentum at some point and hopefully still finish top 4. We need to manage expectations though as the loss of home advantage for a season is a big handicap

I'm still a bit perplexed by last night's itk. It sounds like we could be in for a seismic few days. I really hope this culminates in the required signings. I'm off to set up the paddling pool for the kids; hopefully something positive gets posted by the time I return.

Yes I did at least.
All it required was keeping Walker or buying an appropriate replacement and sending a statement of intent and dropping a similar amount on a creative / pacey forward player as we did on another central defender.
If we had done that I think we would be beating Burnley. Maybe even drawn with Chelsea and the last two seasons momentum would of been continued.
As it is now we have lost that momentum and are losing ground already on our competition.

Maybe levy can still pull this Game changer out of the bag but who is even available who could be that?

Hercs mentions Benteke and Origi, are we trying to set up a Little Belgium or a Little Ajax?

Origi look s more likely to me especially if Pool splash some cash on a striker.

Benteke I can understand, but Origi's record is arguably inferior to Janssen, at best equal. I don't get the interest if that's true.

Benteke, origi no thanks.just more sissoko standard players.if these are the players poch wants then he needs to be taken off the purchasing comittee.only things they have in common is being big strong, have experience and being very average

In 157 premier league games, including a season of being on the Liverpool bench, this chap has scored 66 league goals. That's a goal in every 2.4 games, over a spread of several season, as first choice for two relegation battlers and a bench warmer for a 2nd tier side. If this guy falls within our price range, with this level of pedigree in the Premiership, I struggle to think of a better realistic upgrade on Janssen.

We shouldn't be buying anyone just because he is an upgrade on Jannsen.....if thats the case we could buy almost anyone.

The fact Liverpool let him go because he didn't suit their system should mean we avoid. His whole game is based on aerial strength and hold up play. He has limited work rate and that's why he signed for palace which is his level. The fact they might sell says it all...

To be honest most times I've seen Benteke he's looked like a pretty bad footballer. Almost like Darren Bent, doesn't actually look like the greatest footballer but still got goals. I'd rather steer clear of Benteke to be honest, sounds like a notorious 'last one left because we failed with all our other choices' signing.

As if he will be happy to bench warm anyway, and he gets 130,000 grand a week and he is a pony.

We need Pace.....and a player who can play wide as well as cover for Harry when needed.

A Salah..Marne type

Sorry, not to cast aspersions on the info - but I absolutely refuse to believe that we are after Benteke.

Not because I think he's shit, it just wouldn't make any sense whatsoever from a wages, cost, age, workrate standpoint.

If our attacking signing is either Benteke or Origi then Levy has to go I really don't see the point of either of them we may as well just promote Harrison or something from the u23s I'd rather that than either of those sacks of shit.
