With the high line we play and the counter-press that Liverpool play it's imperative to have a defender with that rapid pace. As you say someone who will go toe to toe with Mane. He'll need to be careful once he catches up with the player though as he tends to go shoulder to shoulder at which point you'll see the player fling themselves to the ground. Some Prem refs will give a pen and send him off for it not appreciating that it was actually his strength rather than a push.

With him, Aurier and Rose I am much more comfortable knowing we have the pace to recover in these situations and still play the high press.
