I streamed a bit of the match last night.

He looked immense - his pace and strength was frightening. Was keeping up with Neymar, completely flattened Alves with a wonderful shoulder challenge (unfortunately the sort of aggression that is being wiped out of the PL despite it being fair and not dangerous).

It will obviously take him time to adjust, but if we take that performance as a base level for a 21yr old to improve on - he is an extremely exciting prospect.

That was never a foul, you pussies. Alves tried to barge into him after he got in front of him and got obliterated for his trouble.

Clean tackle, book Alves for simulation if anything.

It couldnt have happened to a nicer person either. Alves is a dirty little dog sh*t, the faintest of breezes makes him fall to the floor and scream like he has broken his back so Im delighted he just got his arse handed to him!

Watched most of the game myself ,the real stand out moment for me defensively was around 1.30 on those highlights.where he makes up 10 yards on Neymar to get block in,and then get faintest of touches just to stop the dribble. His strength is obvious but his pace is astonishing.i imagine it will rescue us and him alot this season ,until he really knows his craft as a CB.i hope we play him in centre of the 3 as his pace will save us a lot.also think Toby being slightly wider will help his diagonal

Think he will be a great player but I don't think he had the best of games there. Needs to be a bit more composed

the worry is that this clip isn't edited like all the others which just show the best bits

Pitch looked shit tbf

Not gonna lie - I kind of liked it when he knocked the Brazilian player into next week. It was so ruthless - he never even looked to see if the guy was ok. It wasn't personal, it was just business. It might have been a foul in another game, but I think we need a little take-no-prisoners attitude sometimes.

Unrelated to Davinson really, but this recent FIFA rule about kits pisses me right off. Colombia are supposed to play in yellow shirts, blue shorts and red socks FFS!

I too was wondering about Colombia's colours. What are the new FIFA rules?

Supposedly all kits must be either all light coloured or all dark coloured which means teams can't wear dark shorts with light tops or the other way round. Therefore countries like England,Germany,Argentina and Brazil can't wear their normal dark shorts and conversely Italy and France can't wear white shorts.
Anyway, this is the way that I understand it. I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

I though that the recent trend was due to new styles by the various kit suppliers like Nike and Puma. I did not know it had anything to do with a Fifa directive. There was never a problem before as teams wore their national colours any way they wanted, as long as they didn't clash. This is an absurd idea, bordering on stupidity. No one would know that Columbia's national colours included red and blue and not white
