That was an awful headed miss by Llorente. We really need options in attack so I hope he clicks into gear in the limited amount of time he's going to get. Nice day out for Barnsley and a non-event for us.

I seriously just think it's Wembley... I'm convinced we wouldn't have these same concerns had we played these very same home games at WHL.

For me it's no so much about warming up as a team but more so adjusting our style of play to be more effective at Wembley.
It's got nothing to do with the pitch size. We won 6-1, 7-1, away at the two biggest pitches in the league last year.

LIv have P4 in September - lost 2 and drawn 2 with 10 goals conceded.

The press still love these floppy headed muppets ?

It may just be an accumulation of things at Wembley but it's something there, I don't think that can be denied.

Guardian stated we had 26k attendance at WHL for the equivalent round last year vs Gillingham..

Top teams have been pants against Tier 2 League Cup opponents in Round 1 forever. It's just the way it is. I can't remember, but I'd bet we had several of these kinds of games in our last two LC wins.

From actually being in Wembley... that was a tough watch. Never really any danger of losing. Barnsley had a couple of moments and did force Vorm to make a decent save but otherwise no threat.

Issue is us in possession. Feels a lot like we don't know what to do with it.

Alli and Son can be a little frustrating in that they've got the skill but can often over play it/ try too hard. Llorente looks like he's building up match fitness/ getting used to our team. Winks getting back to fitness and a nice little debut for Foyth.
Dembele is a class above.

23K for a 3rd round tie vs Barnsley seems fair considering we did 24k vs Gillingham last year. Just the size of Wembley makes it feel worse. Went with the mother today and when we got in there we could essentially pick what seat we wanted to sit in

Job done, typical for this type of game and when we make so many changes it was dull.

We just don't have the same quality in reserve as city or united or Chelsea for that matter.

Overall an apathetic performance in front of an apathetic crowd with the tone set by an apathetic manager

How did Foyth and Llorente look?

Foyth looked very good, extemely classy and smooth on the ball. Made a couple of exciting forward runs too. Still a kid and you could tell he's not fully developed physically, but looks like he's got all the tools.

Llorente looked very slow with a poor first touch to be perfectly honest.

How quick/slow is Foyth? That's the only negative I remember Tim Vickery (who I think knows his stuff) mentioning.
