Has rose played in CL for us? Could be the debut spoken about by Hercules?
Poch might just be playing games with Real?

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Victor Wanyama and Erik Lamela rejected the chance to join the Tottenham squad for their Champions League clash against Real Madrid tomorrow night (Tuesday).

Midfield anchorman Wanyama and winger Lamela are closing in on first-team returns after lengthy spells on the sidelines.

Manager Pochettino admitted that neither of the pair were fit for selection against the Champions League holders but were invited to fly out to Spain in support of the team.

They turned down the opportunity but the suspended Dele Alli did not and is part of the travelling party even though he is not fit to play for the third of Spurs’ six Champions League group matches.

“Dele wanted to come and stay with the team,” Pochettino told the official Spurs Twitter account on the flight to Spain this afternoon. “We have some injured players like Lamela still recovering and Wanyama at the training ground. They prefer to stay there.

“We invite them to come and stay with the group because I think it is an important game and to have the possibility to stay all together.”

Interesting that Poch has decided to make his feelings public on that.

Is he questioning their commitment to the group? Or more just giving Dele praise, bit of both....Maybe.

Physical?

They'll go down like a sack of shit any time anyone goes anywhere near them.

If Dele was playing it might end up being a game of who can hit the floor first.

I think he's referring to players like Ramos who won't think twice about trying to get rid of Kane as early as he can

Could be that, or it could be that they feel they need the extra training, conditioning they will get by staying behind. Depends how close to playing again they both are I guess. If it's gym work/physio they need then staying behind would be better for them if not then I would have thought going out with the squad would have been more beneficial.

I hope it's neither. I hope he's saying that they were both offered the chance to come, and that he would have been happy with that because he wants them to feel the love, but they've chosen the 'professional' option, staying home to get the work in, and he's just telling the world how professional they are. Any other explanation sounds worrying to me.

Don’t know why after that first half against Bournemouth, but I’ve got a feeling we will get something from this game, can feel it in me bones, just like the Dortmund game.
Thought I’d share, thanks.

Lamela is not even in Spurs Champion's League roster!

Their players are all cheats. I've said numerous times that if we want to be successful in Europe then I'm afraid we are going to have to start falling on the floor a lot. We did the last time we had relative success in the competition.

I don’t know the real reason for them to decline to fly to Spain but I hope it’s because they wanted to get their fitness back and be available as soon as possible, especially so as we have a few tough games coming up.

The availability of Rose and Dembele is indeed a pleasant surprise, if Dembele is able to play 55 minutes even at a good level (not the level from Dortmund) then start him, it'll take the wind out of Madrid's sails and help us keep possession on a night where we need to starve them. Rose will unlikely be good for more than a 15 minute run at tired legs so I'd still go with Aurier (who is good on his left foot), but if the murmurings from @Hercules indicate a start for Walker Peters I won't complain.
