Im at work and struggling to keep up with the news re llorente.

Would one of you fine folk be able to give a brief overview of whats going on?
We are apparently asking Chelsea for £17m for Llorente.

So we are either taking the piss or have a replacement lined up for the money.

In my opinion we'd be crazy to let him go to Chelsea while there remains the possibility of us catching them. He's been ineffectual for us but we know from his time at Swansea that he is capable of scoring goals in this league. We'd be potentially strengthening a direct rival which makes no sense to me whatsoever. Why help them out?

Exactly. It’s not often Chelsea are so desperate in the transfer market so as far as I’m concerned they can fuck right off.

I think we're all getting a bit carried away here.

If we let Llorente leave then it would surely only be if Batshuayi comes here (my preference) even if that was a loan and Poch got the chance to talk to him and convince him that he will get minutes.

Alternatively we know that there is a 2nd player that we have been looking to bring in as the ITK said we were trying for 2 players, 1 of which being Lucas. So maybe the other is a striker and always has been?

I wouldn't say happy but I can see the logic of using Son up front with Moura on the wing. I'd be happier if we brought in a young, promising striker but there is only a day left in this window so it looks unlikely.

Yeah in a world of no injuries or fatigue etc I agree.

Llorente can leave in a swap for Bats(which improved chelsea) if BVB and Giroud are willing to wed so Auba wpuld go there(wich imprpves arsenal) and if Bats is willing to come here). So essentially, we break even and improve our rivals.

Levy’s been chelsea’s best friend thus far this season after makng a call in the summer that has ended up saving Chelsea £20m. Now hes close to giving them a great striker who theybe been after for a while because he hasnt worked out here thus far in the 6 months we had him.

I would take our money back for Llorente and Batshuayi on loan for 6 months tbh. We have to try anything that could potentially scupper the Aubameyang deal and I think Chelsea might be thinking along similar lines as well.

I think Batshuayi could possibly be tempted into a 6 month loan.

We can then re-assess in the summer.

It's common knowledge that we don't like them and they don't like us. It'd be worth seeing Levy and Abramovich matched in a bout of greco-roman wrestling to the death in a mud pit.

So I'd be surprised if we were willing to deal with them or they us. Lets be honest, it's highly unlikely isn't it?

Under normal circumstances maybe but here there could well be a mutual interest involved with the added bonus of even stopping Arsenal.

Thinking about it (briefly, because I don't actually give a fuck), IF he were to leave and IF it were to a Premier League club, you have to be looking at the bottom half of the table, one that's in trouble. Or to a club in Spain. Those for me are his likeliest destinations.

I'd certainly have Chelsea, Swansea and Bilbao as most likely. Chelsea is the only one all over the press though...

I hope this makes the whole transfer saga with all these strikers even more confusing and at the end of the day tomorrow, everyone will stay put. Meaning we keep Llorente, who I think has not done too badly given the limited opportunities he has had. It would also mean that Arsenal would not get Aubameyang this window and Conte could keep complaining about his lack of strikers.
