250-300k per week is obscene and it is time for a wage cap worldwide for the sake of the sport.

Even capped at 200k is obscene and if you are not happy with that as a wage for playing a sport you need to have a long hard look at yourself as it means you are a greedy fecker.

That equates to 104 million over a 10 year career insane figures

It is obscene. What's also obscene is on average next season for one home game we the club will make £3m not including food and drink. £3m for 90mins of a game, personally I would be perfectly happy with 250k of that going to Kane than being banked. Not that it works like that obviously but Kane is one of the biggest draws and reasons why the stadium would be full, I've never had an issue with elite players earning vast sums as they put bums on seats and technically generate revenue it's more the meh players who pull in close to 100k that I don't like.

We can't be considered elite until we start to win some silverware.

Yup.

Players will join the Elite clubs because of who they are as a club irrespective of who the manager is and to some extent wages.

For me the Elite clubs are Barca, Bayern, Real Madrid, Yanited, and Juve. In front of us after that are PSG, City, Chelsea, and arguably Pool and Athletico.

Don’t think we have officially been made an elite club.

Assuming the £400m thing is a guess. Is there anything projecting our annual turnover next season?

In respect of the stadium debt, why is it that these things have to be settled so quickly? It's not like the stadium is temporary. Wasn't arsenals like 10 years? I'd be living in a cupboard if my first mortgage had to be that short!

Big guess. Our financials should be out this month so might have a better idea then. Although they will only be up to june last year.

So is the £400m in the OP based on anything?

I don’t think the new stadium will really change our spending for next season dramatically.

Feck's sake...I've only just got used to us being part of the 'big 4'*

*Often now called the top 6 teams since finishimg ahead of the usual suspects.

You'd have to ask hoops. AIA have increased sponsorship but not sure by how much. Nike deal. CL money. Extra matchday revenue from wembley. All add up. But how much is based on newspaper rumours and guess work.

Last statement I believe was 2015/16.

Our turnover was £210m. Can’t imagine we have doubled it within 2 years.

@Hoops mind enlightening us on what your OP is based on?

Cl for this year is £55m (from swiss ramble) matchday an extra £40-50m? Nike and aia an extra £10-15?

Well short of £400m but hoops might know better.

TBF you don't get 50,000 people in a cinema chanting 'there's only one Al Pacino', the two aren't in any way comparable :D

My onion, of course.
Im going to try that at my local Odeon.....”One Al Pacino....you only sing when youre paid to.....im so bored it’s unbelievable....”
I think youre onto something here.....

Think he's suggesting £400m for the 2018/19 season. Arsenal revenue was £420m. Now pricing is released our match day will be on par with them, broadcasting assuming in CL again will be same as this year. It's always commercially we don't match up, we'll shorten gap with NFL money, stadium sponsorship and commercial partners linked to new stadium. We'll still be behind them but 380-400m isn't an insane estimate. No idea if means anything as we don't know how much we'll be paying off each year and have the "we've got to pay for the thing" excuse.

Yep, accounts for 16/17 published at the end of the month, but the club's auditors Deloitte revealed the turnover figure a few weeks back when they published their annual football rich list: £305.6m (up from £209.2m the previous year).

Our matchday at the lane was £40m we are looking at around £90-100m in the new stadium.
Forgot about tv revenue. So could well be getting towards £400m but i think we'll be a bit short.

Just a guess really. 2016/17 turnover was £305.6m. 2017/18 with the Wembley gate receipts, CL money, TV money and sponsorships should see revenues increase still further.

With us having to pay to use Wembley although it'll increase I don't think it'll be that much higher. Next year is when it'll increase substantially, we only had 68,449 average attendance at Wembley and tickets were a lot cheaper. NFL money, stadium sponsorship and people are forgetting commercial partners linked to the new stadium. It all adds up, think 400m is maybe a bit optimistic but it won't be far off in my opinion.
