Then offer a 3 year contract. I am sure this is common at his age.
Mirror linking him with Chelsea today. For no other reason than we play them tomorrow I suspect. Nobody falls for that anymore.
Modern equivalent of cut and paste. I can barely remember carbon paper myself, kids on here have no chance.Yep, one of those classic carve and copy situations we're all so familiar with. First you carve, then you copy. Textbook.
I think the Club and Levy’s model will always be if a player gets to 27-30 and he thinks he can get top dollar and get a younger replacement of equal calibre he will take the money. Obviously won’t be every player, if you lose 1 a season like this can you maintain impetus, remains to be seen.
Toby wants out. Thats why this is happening now. If he didnt, he’d have been fast tracked back. But he does want out so he’s getting the Kyle Walker treatment except our replacement is better than Walker’s replacement was so its not as glaringly obvious that we’re downgrading in crunch time due to a wantaway like it was last year.Carve and copy of the Kyle Walker situation here.
Slowly been moved to the side in all aspects now.
Not first choice, not training consistently, not working hard enough, no favours or fast track back.
No more cup games for him either now.
Really setting Toby, the club and the fans up for his exit in my opinion.
A shame though especially if it is all contract driven. Not great to lose a world class CB for his prime years regardless
Im not sad about it. He doesnt want to be with us anymore. So good luck to him. So long. He’s been injured for about half the season but that hasnt stopped his team kicking up contract stuff with the media. 2 long term injuries in 2 years also. Sad how its ended with the injuries but toby’s actions are hardly doing himself any favors with the fans IMO.Sadly I'm not sure we'll see him in our shirt again
It’s pretty obvious he’s been tapped up by some moneybags.Toby wants out. Thats why this is happening now. If he didnt, he’d have been fast tracked back. Is it still typical of Spurs that in this day and age we still lose one of our best players due to wages? How confident are others we will agree new deals for the likes of Kane, Alli or Erickson if they want to be paid what they believe is their market rate in wages?
I'd normally agree but there's definitely mitigating factors in this case.I'm impressed with the way Poch has dealt with this situation. Though I am concerned that after four years of retaining our best players we'll have sold an important first teamer two summers running.
