What a shock. I was listening to him last week going on about Chelsea on Talksport and getting mad at his Chelsea bias then a week later he's gone.

Terribly sad.

He was obviously a decent man and well liked by all that knew him.

I think that's what is most sad or hard to really take on board is that he was on talksport so recently. Yeah for sure he drove me mad a bit when he was being pro Chelsea but I will miss hearing him. I was re-watching Do I Not Like That, the documentary about Graham Taylor's reign as England manager last night and what struck me the most was what a really decent gentleman he was and I think that Ray Wilkins will be remembered the same.

Very sad. Seemed like a top bloke and nobody had a bad word to say against him

Sideways football will never quite be the same again

RIP

He got sent off in a World Cup match against Morocco at the 1986 finals for throwing the ball at the referee, the first England player to ever be sent off in a World Cup match.

If that had happened these days there would have been ructions.

IIRC he was nicknamed 'the crab' because of his sideways passing but again, today he'd be ranked alongside Pirlo or something. He was a very very good player. I particularly enjoyed watching him play for QPR where his quality really stood out. RIP Ray :(

Very sad news. Always enjoyed listening to him as a pundit. One of the few capable of offering genuine insight.
