Is Ian ITK?Ian surprised Bale wants to stay
Is Ian ITK?Ian surprised Bale wants to stay
I don’t think anyone our end was applauding when they engineered his move to MadridRM wants to shift him to bring another galatico in. They know he would prefer us. We have a very FIRM SET FIRST REFUSAL. Issue is he does not want to leave, and his contract (not wages) puts him in a very strong position. Thanks to hiscagents brilliant piece of business. They arevto be applauded.
But even if the contract is very much in Bales favour, which doesn't surprise me, i just don't understand why Bale would want to stay unless it's a money thing. I know RM is his dream club, but the likes of Asensio and Vazquez have moved ahead of him (to a certain dagree). And I'm sure, as you say, after the season they have had they will want to bring in at least one new superstar.RM wants to shift him to bring another galatico in. They know he would prefer us. Yet we all know how this ends: "August 31, Levy awakens from his summer nap, ready to go to work - only to suddenly realize the window actually closed two weeks prior."Well if anything is for certain, I think this is likely to be the wildest summer at Tottenham we've ever seen.

In notes to THST, Levy states: "Lessons have been learned."

Appreciate the insight. Thanks Trix. The move they engineered, got us a lot more money than we thought we would originally get. The top brass at Stellar are very close to Spurs and to Levy.
Appreciate the insight. Thanks Trix.
(Still not happy about the way they went about it tho...)
Hercules said that if on the off chance Bale does come back, we'd have to get creative at CM so I think it might be one or the other, which certainly makes sense with only 1 outgoing that will command a massive fee. Of course, all this relies on us having Champions League football next season, which is now completely up in the air.It seems as though there is a possibility as all ITK has stated but we all know this is a huge summer and imagine the statement it would make signing him with another top CM. Then the Spurs in me smashes me in the face saying wake up but am sure we are pushing around some big players if all our big players are waiting on this summer dealings...
From memory (admittedly old and failing) there was a heap of condemnation for the way Bale handled himself during the saga (did he miss training or have a “niggling injury” or something), much of which was blamed squarely at his advisors. How do you mean mate? RM want one of their players they are not going to get him to turn it down.

Anyway, let’s not drag up the past and derail this hugely positive thread with the ramblings of a confused old man (not you, Trix. Me)
Spurs had some hand in that, not just Bale and his agents alone. From memory (admittedly old and failing) there was a heap of condemnation for the way Bale handled himself during the saga (did he miss training or have a “niggling injury” or something), much of which was blamed squarely at his advisors.

I’d have all of themBale isn't coming back guys. Let it go. We'd all love him, but it isn't financially viable.
Martial would be cheaper, is several years younger, not as injury prone and will have a point to prove.
If that means we can use our resources to get a better standard of player distributed around the pitch I'd be happier.
I don't want to spunk all our cash on Bale, but then have to sign Jonny Evans and Jay Rodriguez
