Many congrats to England - better over 90 mins, no worse than parity in ET despite clearly having their balls kicked into their lungs, and better in the shootout. Fully deserved win. Players showed exceptional fight and skill.
BTW, on the shootout - that was the best-drilled set of pens I think I've ever seen. You could see each player concentrating on what they'd practised. Tripps was the best example - he was laser focused on that top right corner, and you could seem him wilfully steering it up there with his boot. Huge kudos to Southgate for the prep.
We Irish, Scots and Welsh like having a good laugh at England most of the time, but when you play like you did tonight, don't bottle it and show your ability and heart, it's a pleasure to congratulate you.

Sweden is not as skillful nor as dirty as Columbia; and I think if Southgate starts Rashford with Kane, England will win quite comfortably. He must also start Rose over Young who never played a forward in all the matches he's played. The headless wandering of Sterling has meant that the team loses it's shape when it tries to attack.

Can't believe how thick some of our players were in the first half:
Maguire, Henderson, Lingard, especially.

Colombia were imploding. All we had to do was keep our emotional distance and let them foul us, give us freekicks and get their players sent off.
Couldn't believe what I was seeing. They were literally handing the game to us and we declined.
Must have better discipline and feel for the energy of a game going forward.
Use situations like that to our advantage, not be consumed by them.

He was fucking awesome today, I said before the game the best outcome for Spurs is an England win with Davinson playing a blinder, that happened. Even better is that Dier is one of the heroes as I feel he's maybe lacking a bit of confidence lately, that should more than sort him out.
