We are in a totally different planet to the top 6 nevermind top 4 though. We simply cannot compete financially with them and people need to accept that.
Not doubting your (and a few others) view that this may complicate the deal but it's in no way 100% going to cause problems.
First off, the investors, now buyers will know this business is largely agreed. They wouldn't be kept in the dark on where this deal is, so them buying the club doesn't change that.
Secondly, when buying a business you look at it's ins/outs and assets especially if that business needs help. JG is an asset and one which may mean their investment in their playing squad is lessened due to getting a decent fee for the lad and having a (presumably) top earner off the payroll. So that in financial terms is a win - but what about the footballing side of things?
Well yes they will lose a key player who engages with fans and has passion for the club but when have owners of clubs actually cared that much about those elements - the money side of the game talks, especially to people like them.
Yes there may be some additional formalities/waiting while the club changes hands but all parties are seemingly agreed on a deal here (and as mentioned, new buyers would have been well aware) and want it to happen, so i don't see any major concerns - time will tell if i'm proved wrong.
That's silly.Hopefully they'll sell him to us with the hope that they can then get some quality draft picks to start a rebuild.
Could potentially backfire on Jack also. "I love the club etc but left to help us out of a hole", when in reality he fancied the move to Spurs all along? Not saying this is true, but...It’s never looks good when new owners come in and the first thing they do is sell the best player at the club. Certainly no way to endear themselves to the fans.
The new villa investors (later owners) seem seriously loaded and connected, expect that they will arrange for 'arms length' sponsorship to clear up FFP. This transfer could be in peril I reckon.

The biggest thing they could do to get the Villa fans onside would be to stop Grealish leaving and offer him a bumper deal to stay. Cheaper than buying other new players. Part of me feels that Levy has lost his negotiating power. Wouldn’t be shocked if they go back to demanding more again and we walk away.
What are they going to Sponsor to make up the numbers? QUOTE]
I was thinking villa Park naming rights etc. What sort of stuff did Man city come up with?
Also, as I understand it, they have til seasons end to raise the money for FFP, but needed to sell now for cash and because sales in Jan would be too risky. Not sure if this latter one is right, but it seems to have been discussed that way on villa talk.
Also seems that investment is for a majority share which may well become 100% after some time.
Time will tell I guess.
Villa have just got a couple of billionaires on board as investors according to the BBC , hopefully it won't stop us getting Grealish but any hope of a bargain could be out the window.
Steve Bruce has said as much. Their effort to win promotion last year left them very short on FFP (by championship standards) so even if they get money they still have to sell in order to buy.It will probably not make a difference as the money they need to generate needs to come from player sales. It's not debt that they need to worry about, its balancing their FFP books (I hope anyway)
