Got to give Trix credit for being bang on and what I think has happened is that, that is old news in terms of United bidding for maguire and it getting rejected that is just now reaching the media. I think that this then ties in with Hercules comments regarding Levy and poker as they are now going to go for Alder and do business with us on Martial.

I could even stretch it to say that nobody else has come in for De Ligt so we're going to do the business there also but I think that the first paragraph is plausible.

If they really are prepared to pay £65 million for an okay CB, then they deserve to be rogered senseless by a metaphorical elephant

Alderweireld out, Martial, Grealish & De Ligt in with any other necessary departures that can be brokered with our surplus players and I don't think anyone would be able to say that we aren't a club looking to continue moving forward that hasn't backed the manager.

It would be a remarkable window given all of the circumstances. Why do I still cling to the hope

If Leicester think they can't upgrade on Maguire for 65m then that's just bonkers to me. Maguire is good but not that good. Leicester is his level and now is the promo time for them to cash in and make a move for Lascelles with no real cost to their season.

Seems Leicester are saying he's not for sale. I know clubs want to retain their best players but that kind of money for a CB at a mid table club is crazy IMO. They could replace him for a fraction and the drop in quality is unlikely to hurt them in their goals.

Absolutely or Mawson as a similar replacement.

Although i very much doubt £65m is on the table for him but we'll see.

Everton are trying to sell Michael Keane on the cheap apparently. Probably get him for a third of the fee or less. They've also signed Jonny Evans already.

If legit I'd be shocked if they said no. They sold Mahrez for that FFS!

If Leicester are honestly thinking of turning down a c£50m profit on a player they signed 12 months ago they need their heads tested. Too many selling clubs are chancing their arm at the elite clubs being over the top trying to get their targets. Eventually their greed will come back to haunt them when a lot of these players prove themselves to be of less quality than the market deems them to be at the moment

65 million!? madness!

they're refusing so they can give off a big club persona, and that's fine. But in reality they should bite united's hands off, they had the worse defensive record in the top 10 and one of the worst in the league last season. Maguire isn't all that, world cup performances have really over hyped some players massively

They're bound to refuse in public. They won the league, they don't want to come across as United's bitch and just accept their opening bid straight away. I bet there's talks going on behind the scenes though, I very much doubt they've just refused outright.

Or they'll wait for Maguire to ask to leave (stopping short of a transfer request of course). £65m seems a bit lively for an opening bid though!

Agreed but it plugs future holes and gives solid options in areas that we could also improve.

I do think, with the lack of CM's being linked that Pochettino for all of his scouting still doesn't quite know what he wants in this position. Does he go for a poor mans Moose, or does he get a different style midfielder that will alter the way that we play. It really wouldn't surprise me to see Dembele stay on for another year and slowly get phased out by Winks as the season goes on. It wouldn't surprise me to see Poch continue his scouting for Dembeles squad place replacement for a further 12 months

Bet there's a sell on clause from Hull.
